Yesss, love to see it. I adore film, just moved to an area right outside of SF. All the more reason to check out these films

Congrats on your new pad! These are fun to visit. Next time you're tooling around in the city you'll randomly pass something and a light bulb will go off in your head.

Fun? Fact- the actor who played the guy getting stabbed with an ice pick at the beginning of Basic Instinct did that scene in one take- because his screams were so realistic... because the ice pick was going THROUGH the shield on his chest and he was ACTUALLY getting stabbed!! I know this because he used to date Elvira (remember her?) and she talked about it in an interview. Great video!
@ZeeneInRealLife3 жыл бұрын
Wow! That is a fun fact - Sharon Stone double getting a bit carried away. :) Yes, definitely remember Elvira!

Always a treat. Thank you. I am hoping to spend a weekin 2022 in Yosemite or Frisco. Wait, isn't there a video from last year about "What Locals Hate?" I might have to watch that one again before I visit.
@ZeeneInRealLife3 жыл бұрын
😂 although I got feedback that some locals don't mind the Frisco moniker!
@ForbinColossus3 жыл бұрын
I once said "Frisco" also - thinking back to Edward G Robinson movies of old - but after awhile you realize how silly it is - like asking a New Yorker where the "BIG APPLE" is and thinking youre funny.

This past Tuesday when the temp got up to 70 I was zipping around on my bike. While pedaling around the Embarcadaro I found myself in a large production staging grounds. As I looked around I saw numerous trailers for wardrobe along with hair and make-up departments. I also saw 3 cars of the same make and model covered by cloth tarps. When the wind blew I saw they had a very familiar shade of yellow. On my way out I asked one of the guards sitting in his company car what was being filmed and he replied, "That's 'Nash Bridges.' I'd heard some talk of it coming back but didn't think it'd actually happen what with Covid still around. Turns out they're doing a TV movie version with the hope of bringing it back as a series. Truthfully, I doubt that'll happen. Even when the show first aired it was already woefully outdated compared to shows like 'Law and Order,' 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,' and 'The X-Files.' Now if it were 'The Streets of San Francisco' brought up to current times *that* would be interesting!

@thedoneeye Interesting! For sure it’s not to everyone’s taste but it ran for 6 seasons so I think there’s definitely a Don Johnson/Cheech Marin fan club. The movie will probably test the waters!

@@ZeeneInRealLife Don't remember if you covered it but MARVEL movie 'Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' shot some B-roll stuff on Clement st. Later on, he was shown checking his snail mail and on one item the zip code was VERY prominent. Turns out that it was in the inner Richmond district!! Pretty cool having a MARVEL superhero living so close by! Hmmmm, wonder if he and Ant Man have ever found themselves on the same MUNI bus... Speaking of which, production on the new Ant Man movie is currently going on. According to IMDB, San Francisco is again one of the locations. I also noted that Bill Murray has an unnamed part in the movie. Probably won't be busting ghosts though.

@@thedoneeye Excellent! Shang Chi came out after I made this video otherwise I would definitely have included it. There’s quite an assortment of SF based Marvel characters mow. It’s so cool!

I'm enjoying your travel tips! I'm visiting for the first time ever this June and worry about safety. In your experience, would you say it's safe to walk from Nob Hill to Alamo Square Park and back during the day? I'm thinking walk west down Pine, then south down Steiner, then retrace... Also wondering if this is too hilly to walk. Thanks, I trust your advice! :)
@ZeeneInRealLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Hope you have an awesome trip! That route should be good and a nice walk from a touring standpoint. You are basically passing through Lower Pac Heights. :) In terms of the hills -- yes, that is a pretty hilly part of the city! (especially through Nob Hill). Whether you can walk it or not is all up to physical fitness. I walk it and for sure I get winded but I like the exercise.
@ZeeneInRealLife3 жыл бұрын
Also a few points of interest along your walk -- you'll pass by Polk Street (Polk Gulch) and to the north are a bunch of good eateries including Swan Oyster Depot which was an Anthony Bourdain favorite. Hopefully these will be serving by the time you arrive! At Buchanan south of Pine is Japantown. At Fillmore, to your north is the Fillmore Jazz District's commercial area (again, lots of shops and eateries). Heading down Steiner is Jane the Bakery in a nondescript strip mall which is a local favorite for pastries, baked goods, and fancy toasts. Finally, as you exit Alamo Square Park, continue one block west to Divisadero which is another street chock full of trendy eateries.
