Plane Crazy (1 of 3)

"Plane Crazy" performed in Disneyland's Fantasyland's Videopolis in the spring and summer of 1991. Last performance was Nov. 1, 1991. It was part of the temporary "Disney Afternoon Avenue". Guests would also have a chance to visit Baloo in his dressing room.
A special FBI agent recruits Chip n Dale from "Rescue Rangers", Launchpad McQuack from "Ducktales", and Baloo from "Talespin" to retrieve their X-22 spy plane from the evil clutches of these "Partners in Crime": Don Karnage from "Talespin" and Fat Cat from "Rescue Rangers". (Notice Baloo's and Fat Cat's mouth MOVE!)

I never got the chance to see this show -- thanks for posting the video! The Plane Crazy show and Afternoon Alley are long gone. So many attractions come and go at the Parks that it's great that someone took the time to tape them.

I remember i went to disney world in florida, i was about 6-7 years old, and i watched this "play" based on indiana jones, i thought that was the coolest show i had ever seen. This reminds me very much of the setup they used. Good vid.

So funny. I remember this show. The only thing I remembered from it though, was the miniature plane on the zip-line. I wanted the plane so badly, lol. What good times, all those great characters out and about in the parks. Good times.

This just shows how utterly amazing KZbin is- my family recorded THIS EXACT SHOW on 4th of July weekend in 91, & thru time, we lost the tape. This video instantly brought back such great memories of my childhood. Thank you so much for posting this!

The Avenue is actually where the Small World Mall is now. They had temporary layovers of Afternoon characters on Motorboat Cruise and Autopia. But there was also a Baloo meet n greet after this show I think under the train tracks backstage around where Toontown is today.

Wow! The show we saw at Disney World back then was very different. It featured Gummi Bears, Rescue Rangers, and DuckTales. Perhaps it was before this show. Anyway, it was hosted by a cute cheerleader, so it gets my vote, ha.

I worked in the Afternoon Adventure and there were several cool stations...Scrooges Money Vault ...The Giant Swiss Cheese (chip n dale)..Baloos Dressing Room....The Ninetendo Tent.....and the Swinging Bananas (not fun when the show let out) haha

Is it weird that these were like my first videos on KZbin ever? Lol When I first got into Don Karnage I discovered these videos on google, close to when KZbin was first created. Actually, it was more baby-ish than this show. The whole thing was Scrooge getting accidentally locked in his vault because of Launchpad, and the Gummi Bears and Rescue Rangers trying to help. It had Scrooge, Launchpad, Zummi, Gruffi, Chip, Dale, and Gadget. It was in the area that's called Toontown now. At the time, it was probably called Mickey's StarLand, though they referred to it also as Duckburg.

@filmfreak11 The Nintendo tent was a little arcade where you played the Disney-Capcom nintendo games that came out at the time (Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin). Kinda a forerunner to the Innovention video game section.

Plane Crazy will be relaunched as Disney Afternoon Avenue changes its' name to Disney XD Street. The stage show will have Isabella Garcia-Shapiro from "Phineas & Ferb", Launchpad McQuack from "DuckTales" and Baloo from "TaleSpin" as they recover their X-22 spy plane from the evil clutches of these "Partners in Crime": Don Karnage from "TaleSpin" and Shego from "Kim Possible". Here is a sample of the relaunched stage show Baloo: Launchpad, what are you doing? Launchpad McQuack: Uh, working on my old Joyrider airplane. Baloo: Oh, OK. (Baloo and Launchpad find that the X-22 spy plane has been stolen so they hire Isabella) Isabella Garcia-Shapiro: Hey, Launchpad, What'cha Doin'? Don Karnage: THE X-22 SPY PLANE IS MINE! SHEGO! DISPOSE OF THOSE HEROES! Shego: As you wish, Don Karnage. (Shego uses her sharp claws to blast Baloo, Launchpad and Isabella off the stage while she does some karate moves as Don Karnage watches)

Yeah, I haven't seen the second and third parts yet, but it looks like a better show. But, like I said, WDW's show was hosted by a cute cheerleader cast member, ha, and I liked that about it. I also am a big Scrooge fan, but they didn't put sideburns on him, so he didn't look exactly like himself... Close, but needed the sideburns. I miss the Disney Afternoon...
