I was using FCP but then used Premiere... now I am back with FCPX and happy with it. The fact that I paid for it 4 years ago and I'm still getting free upgrades and supports is awesome vs Adobe's monthly subscription fees. Loving your SL2/SL2s videos. I'm a fan of leica (historically the M) but recently picked up the SL series and blows me away. I shot Canon and Nikon for years professionally but with the SL2-S I'm geting something different that I enjoy. It's well made. It has amazing rendering and Leica vibe that is so different form the Sony/Canon etc. I think fuji and Leica are more matched than the other three. Anyway, you're little tips from using the system have been helpful. One important thing to point out, even the latest Sony's require external recording with the Atomos for anything over 10 bit as well... I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure. This is probably the longest comment I've left on youtube in the last ten years :)

I’ve been using premiere for the past decade professionally and I am ready to switch, but I think I’m moving to davinci for the color control. But having the flexibility of using these files full raw potential would be very nice in FCP. Thank you so much, one day I want to pick up a M11 but it’s just not practical right now but it would be a great partner for my M6! These SL2/SL2-S have been my favorite hybrid cameras I’ve ever used! Very valid point! Thanks for adding that!

That’s so beautiful ! I think I’m convinced . I am thinking which camera to buy that is a good video/photo hybrid, between the SL2-S , Sony A9iii, Nikon Z8, and Canon R5C. Each has its own great points. Leica I think has such great colors, Sony has global shutter , Canon and Nikon the 8k internal recording . Thanks for sharing :-)

My man you can try selecting all the clips in your project window, right-click and select interpret footage, and then in there you should be able to change the color space of all the clips at the same time

You’re right, but with the ninja clips you have to first choose that as the original clip format, then you can do that select all adjustment

How is the heat management on the sl2s for video. Does it over heat often or is like a a7siii and that it can handle being a little hot. Pretty interested in picking one up

I’ve used it in 105* f conditions and it was fine, I’ve never had an overheating experience with this camera and I’ve put it through its paces. It does however, get very cold in the winter

Nice video but you forget the biggest con on the Leica. When filming RAW on the SL2 S, the camera crops to Super 35/ APSC mode. You don't get this crop on the Panasonic S1H, S1 or S5. This is a big deal breaker and why I will stick to my Panasonic's. Leica SL2 S is a beautiful camera though.

Does anyone have any idea why I can’t press record from my camera when plugged into my ninja. I have to press record from the actual ninja screen. Why is that?

Do you lose any autofocus capabilities? Does it work for DaVinci Resolve?

No loss of autofocus abilities. It works to the same extent in davinci as premiere. Hopefully ProRes raw opens up for more softwares

So i have the SL2S as well, shooting Log but when I turn on focus peaking, i can see it on the camera but not the Ninja V. Is there happening to you as well? I have it turned on in the Ninja V, i have played with all the colors and everything and it is still not showing up. Shoogting manual is a pain in the ass because i have to look at the back of the camera and ensure i have the peaking in the correct area and i cant even see it on the Ninja V. Please let me know if you have the same issue.

How do I get the monitor to display or mirror what I’m viewing on my SL2s . And also, how do I get it to correspond when pressing the record button on the SL2s. So many questions lol. Can’t find very many cinematographers using this camera with the ninja.

@@lukasvanderlende The reason I asked is because for me, the RAW file of SL2-s does not function in Davinci Reslolve. I think it does not support Apple ProRes.

@@baharam98 That’s right, Davinci doesn’t support ProRes RAW files, you have to transcode files.

I use it for monochrome footage, l log works great in da vinci, I just use the back display, filming in log has massive advantages and the Atomos just makes the whole process more faffy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZzRdH1rpr-jd68
