Yeah, and because Stanley was so uncomfortable about playing the role, he wanted the director to alter his appearance as much as possible, so that he didn't look like himself at all. That's how much it affected him :(

She looked like that after the scene, because when actors get in touch with a character, and they have to cry, it requires, well actually crying. they get sad in real life so they can cry, mixed with the act of playing such an intense scene like this, she was probably shaken up

That scream is so God damn powerful. You know Saoirse had to get in touch with Susie's character. Your 14 years old, you've been raped and murdered but your spirit was so desperate to escape you forgot you had been murdered. So you run for your life, screaming for your mom and dad, run home (the safe haven for a child) only to realize you never in fact left that hole in the ground, and everything you knew as your life was now done. All because you trusted your neighbor and didn't want to be rude.

madenkind I read the entire book all summer and when I closed the last page of the book, I locked myself in my room and cried. It felt like saying good-bye to an old friend I never met. It's a real emotion and I really felt like I was going to miss her. It's so strange how I got more attacthed to a fictional character than someone in real life.
@madenkind9 жыл бұрын
Shaina Penguin Maybe it's not so strange. A real person is just like he or she is without giving any thoughts to it. A fictional character is someone's imagination, the author gave a lot of thinking into building that fictional person. It's a well constructed person and we only get to see what the author wants us to see of this person and if the author doesn't want us to see the worst facette of it's figure he just doesn't write them down. This way we might see more loveable characters in books than in real life. That's just what I thought after reading your comment.

@NoName-st6zc2 ай бұрын
It's astonishing to see how much of a toll such a scene takes, at least for a short period of time, on the actor despite it just being acting. You'll only be able to understand this if you ever tried to scream as loud and as intense as you can. You'd think it's easy, but it really isn't. When shit's getting intense emotions are going to kick in and there's nothing you can do about it. You just have to deal with them and things like that usually aren't like an on or off switch. Takes some time.
