The scene at 4:01 never made it in the movie - where Sid quietly thanks Gale for saving their lives. Bummer, that would've been a good little moment to have kept in the film.

Thought the same thing and then looked to see if anyone else commented. Maybe they thought it was too shmaltzy (is that the right word?) and I can kind of see why that decision was made in 1996. But it would be good to see this scene re-instated in an extended cut release some day.

The mask isn’t based off of that painting. Everyone always says that. The owner of Funworld that made the mask (which they found by accident) wanted to create what he thought a ghost would look like in pain. The mask and the painting are completely unrelated.
