Don't know why people are bashing this movie and actors, it's really a good movie for the time period it was made for tv. at the time it was shown on tv, I was 22. It was real scary and they didn't have to show the beast very much for it to be scary. Thanks for posting this movie.

Same here I saw this movie too and I have a d.v.d box set with it on one of the d.v.d.s even though the version I have of it is the shortened version as some scenes were cut out like the scene where they were in the school and the main heroes grandmother was talking to the girl called Betty Joe saying 'Betty Joe Smile' and she looks up and sees the title monster right outside the window and another part was when everyone was running out of the school they didn't show that as it showed Betty Joe going right to the truck her mother was in after the title monster killed her and I even saw the remake of this movie where it had one of the main characters of the Dukes of Hazzard t.v. series in it where he played a researcher studying linxs with his 2 assistants and his daughter.

@@capoislamort100 There are quite a few. I'll just stick to a couple. "Horror Express" (1972) scared the CRAP out of me and my lil brother. We saw it on TV probably in 1976. Had to sleep with the light on for months. A couple years later the re-make of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Having no light was not enough. Now we could not SLEEP either.

I hear you. I would like that too, but I had a lot of heartache back then as my best friend was murdered. That was a living nightmare. I still deal with it today. Didn't realize, but back then they didn't have a name for it. I have PTSD because of it. I don't know all the triggers. It's horrifying when it happens, as I can't make it stop. But this movie is great with low level gore. All the crap that's happening today I would love it to all go away. Nice there are more people with the same feelings about what's happening around us in America. but you know, I think it's happening world wide. Now that's scary.

I was 15 years old when this movie made its debut on TV. I believe it was the spring of 1977. It was a good movie and was very scary. It still creeps me out, but is also fun to watch. The woman following those huge footprints of the creature is about as stupid as it gets. If I saw footprints like that, I would get out of there as fast as I could and pray I wouldn't run into that thing. People in horror movies always do dumb things.

its like in those movies when the victim is running away from the bad guy, and they stop every so often and turn to look behind them and just wait until the bad guy catches up to them before they start running away again. like they're actually just playing tag.

Now U know if people didn't do stupid things in horror movies, there would B no movies like that. If U ever C horror movies FM the 30s or 40s, U will C these 2 decisions they hv women make. 1) the woman escapes FM a house. It is at night. She runs into the woods. The monster or the killer comes out looking 4 her abt 1 min later. This is so the woman can hide in the woods. The killer or monster doesn't know where sh is. So what do they hv the woman do 2 get the movie rolling? She screams as loud as she can so the killer or monster knows where she is. Now who in their right mind would do that? No one would. 2) the woman is running FM someone/thing. She is abt 100 yards ahead. Then she falls, looks back 2C the thing gaining ground. So what does she do? Does she get up an run? No, she lays there and just screams until the hero comes. Then the hero gets her up on her feet and they run FM it. No woman is going 2 act like that in those situations. But it kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Again, it was the 30s and 40s.

I remember watching this as a kid with the Family when it was on the Murder, Mystery, Suspense theatre on LWT back in the 80's. It scared the bejesus😱 out of me and they're afew scenes that disturbed me such as Clint Walker's death scene and the girl skier right at the beginning. It's easy to just label it as a rehash of Jaws but I think this does have a uniqueness all of it's own. I like this film and films like this were Quality family viewing back in the 80's!! The few glimpses we get of the Snowbeast itself are quite scary & menacing!!

To make it more realistic, I think they could've used more clips of people skiing in the snow. But it's a great movie, make no mistake.

This movie is so bad it is good. I love the scene where the teenagers in school run in panic and somebody steps on that cheap looking Snow Queen crown. Always makes me laugh.

LOL! The thing left large and distinctive tracks. When you're trying to find something, don't you want to follow the tracks? They would have led to and from the barn. Anyone notice they left their rifles behind after the log roll? One wonders why? But it was still watchable.

Whenever you're hiking , climbing or skiing in a cold winter landscape , unarmed , and you see the police gathered around some barn , then you discover big strange footprints , what's the logical thing you do ? You follow those prints , again , unarmed , into a grim , grey forrest instead of getting the heck out of there. I mean , please , gimme a break ! lol

Would've been nice to at least get a look at the snow beast after he killed it!! Especially after watching with such anticipation 😂😂 but it was still a great relic from the 1970's cinema!😊

'Snowbeast' (1977) is a surprisingly good and enjoyable movie. I had thought about buying a physical copy of it when I realized I already had it on a 50-movie and 200-movie DVD horror pack as well as a 200-movie Drive-in DVD pack which was a pleasant surprise. Yes, it was a fun watch indeed. :)
