that's why this big bags for news / doc shooting exists in first place. like the old broadcast cameras, they were ready to shoot all the time. you open the bag, slap a battery on the camera, ready to go. on my standard to go camera rig, usually there is always installed: lens, battery (v-mount-adapter), a monitor already finished cabled for signal and power, a shotgun mic, a LAV-Mic receiver, (both already cabled!), and a video transmitter + tripod plate of course. so I arrive on set, put up the tripod, put the camera on it, turn it on, got a picture. if client wants to see something, I just open the iPad, connect to the video signal from the camera, ready to go. depending on the job of course, but if you need 15 minutes for setting up your camera and I need 3 minutes, I can even think about setting up or blocking some light or have a chat with the person in front of the camera.
