The correct spelling is SALAMAT But the leader Pablo who wrote this song is very creative. There's a line on this song that says , "SLMT ng sobra, nakuha mo ba ikaw ang A. " It means thank you very much, did you get it? You're the A. The missing A on the title is referring to the name of the fandom which is A'tin (pronounced as 18 and in Filipino language also means "ours ") This song is a special tribute to their fans. They always sing this at the end of their concerts.

Hello po! Native English speaker here as well but I have been learning Tagalog for almost a year. It is extremely difficult so buckle up for the journey if you do decide to learn it. They are using some fandom language here. SLMT is salamat (thank you) without A and the fandom A'tin is the A. MAHALIMA (love five) is what the fans call SB19. So they turned it around saying 'MAHALIMA mahal ka ng lima' (the five loves you back). This song is dedicated to A'tin fandom.

Watching you guys motivates me to seriously focus on teaching my young kids the two Philippine languages I grew up with. I live in Switzerland, and people here take pride in their languages, Swiss German, High German, French and Italian. In my kids' school, every child learns and speaks 3 languages. Plus, we live in a multicultural city, so there are the Europeans--Portuguese, Albanians, etc. and many South Americans, Africans and Asians. It is also common for expat families to speak their native tongue. I've lived in many places since I was a child and I now speak three foreign languages and two Philippine languages. It builds strong character. That's what I notice, too, 'coz I have a lot of Fil-Am cousins in the US who are only fluent in English. It's never too late to learn a new language. I am inspired by one of the SB19 members (Felip/Ken) to learn Bisaya 'coz he came out with a Bisaya single. Rooting for you guys!

Indeed, time to learn the language..you will truly enjoy the richness of its cultural legacy. That is something I Iament so much with my own nephews and nieces who were not taught the Filipino language. So when they come home to Pinas for a visit, they seem to be like a square peg. Thankfully locals and their relatives understand English, but the intrinsic sense of humor in Filipino conversations is lost, so I feel the sense of loss for them...anyhows, am glad SB 19 can encourage you to dig in and learn more about your cultural heritage. You should check out Ken's (Felip's) song Palayo. It's on his KZbin channel. It has English subs but you may actually understand it. It doesn't look like you guys have seen any recent songs. They recently released WYAT or Where You At, Nyebe (with English Subs) and also MaPa on the Wish USA bus with English Subs.

So this svideo's got 1.1k likes already, so.....yeah. You guys better learn Tagalog ahahahaha no, I'm kidding but for the sake of your curiosity, you can probably learn Tagalog or at least learn what this song is saying, line by line! I honestly think this song has one of the most (if not THE most) well-written lyrics they have to date. The lyrics here are the most satisfying and well-fitting. The message of the song and the composition (i.e. how the words were chosen and how they "flow", the rhythm, they syllabication, the rhymes) just fit very well together that it's sooooo satisfying to hear. Add to that the tone: very light-hearted, fun and over-all just perfectly wholesome. If I want to just chill, this would be my go-to song. It's just very satisfying.
