8K resolution is pointless, 6K open gate is more than plenty enough. We've reached the point where pixels have become so tiny that shrinking them further isn't going to increase image quality. There needs to be a faster rolling/global shutter, internal 12bit 4444XQ codec, phase detect autofocus, internal ND, and increased dynamic range by at least a stop. I believe these are the main fundamental improvements they need before everything else like high frame rates in open gate.

All of that would be nice! Plus: - Direct to SSD recording - Built in lidar focusing with I/O for 3rd party motors - Global shutter - 32bit float audio - timecode - Riggable body with removable EVF ( think aspects of FX3 + Fuji GFX)

I am fine with a GH7 in fullframe for an S12. 6k open gate with a DGO readout for an extra stop to 1.5 stops of dynamic range, 32bit float audio, and yes, internal BRAW would be amazing! I would take the extra dynamic range over 8k all day every day.

They've milked that one sensor (S1H, BS1H, S5, S5ii, S5iix, S5iid) for about 5 years, so what is really necessary is a sensor that can be good for the next 5. Faster readout to address rolling shutter. 6k 60p. Slightly increased dynamic range (it's already good but gotta keep up with the Joneses). Way less HDMI lag. Internal ND seems like the obvious thing to distinguish the S1 from the more affordable S5 series.

The old s1h still has a dynamic range above the r5 Mark 2, z8, pyxis, ect. Netflix approved. Peak performance that rivals a cinema camera is the one thing I don't want compromised in this camera. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much better it can get with a 12 bit readout. It's going to be an absolute earthquake when a full frame camera does 14 bit readout. Imagine duel 16 bit.

Why, "prosumers" always demand a high spec from a brand and cheap prices? I mean just go with Red or Arri (If your demand of specs is that high) those two are the top tiers, expensive, but they have the best of the best in a s35mm or FF. At the end of the camera isn't that important, I prefer to invest in good quality lenses or lights.

Not to be "that guy", but 8K in any tiny compact body like a Lumix is just silly, sorry. Between the (inevitably) slow read/write data speeds and (inevitable) issues regarding overheating that people always bring up in camera discussion 8K is a rather foolish endeavor.Hell, even high end PCs struggle with that resolution/data size. It's like putting a Ferrari engine in a Camry, it's not going to work out. Panasonic needs a reliable and affordable work horse not a show horse. As another user said 2025 is going to be make or break for Panasonic.

I use 8k raw in my Z8 and find it very enjoyable! It's so nice to be able to crop without any loss of detail. Also if you down sample the footage it has more dynamic range. There's only positives if you have it good computer.

The image quality isn’t an issue with Panasonic S Series. We just need 4k 120-180 with a good bit rate and 6k 60 would be good. I don’t think we need 6k 120😂 We also don’t need false colors on those little 3 inch screens. Just get an external monitor. Also about the Panasonic users waiting, Sony and Canon don’t have a MFT line. Which means, Panasonic is punishing full frame users because they may not have the resources to develop both MFT and full frame. My only problem with his is- other manufacturers have a APSC line. The only company ahead of the game is Fujifilm’s because they only manufacture APSC.

Too late....Got tired of waiting over a year and got tired of Panasonic's silence. Also got tired of most of 2024 being wasted on nothing but the S9. ...Dumped (sold my S1r and S5IIx and lots of glass) all my Lumix and picked up a Nikon Z8 and Z6 III last month. I don't need open gate personally. I need good hybrid features, not just heavy emphasis on video....... I think you're going to get a S1R II with the SL3 60+MP sensor. I feel we are entering an era camera makers need to announce something is coming, even at a basic level, and stop all the NDA's, black taped logos, and silence. No news and no info creates uncertainty when other brands are springing ahead.

When our cameras don't have features, we defend why they aren't needed: when they get these features, we jump up and down at how good they are. When I got the R5, I never thought I'd use it. But I always shoot 4K fine and the detail is very good. I also learned something from 8K. With two rebuttals, your affirmative is blown out as you started with no one.

We can’t say, I know you are having financial problems, please release a camera. This makes no sense from a business prospective. If they don’t release when we want we complain. If they release and it’s garbage or not quite up to the competition we will complain. If they release and go out of business a short time later we will complain. Consumers are and never will be happy. Let’s stop trying to pressure them and let them release when they are ready, produce a quality product that they can support and thrive from that consumers enjoy using.

Developing a car doesn't take 6.5 years, let alone a camera. The key phrase here is "when we want." We wanted it two years ago, and it's severely late. So, the criticism and outrage are justified. Yes, develop it correctly and take your time, but Panasonic, or any other company for that matter, isn't owed any loyalty when people are ready to upgrade.
@sidvicious312919 күн бұрын
@@jjurii When you are broke, you are broke, and you can't bleed blood from a turnip, no matter how much the key phrase here is "when we want". You are correct, Panasonic or any other company isn't owed loyalty, but they also don't owe you a product either. like Simon said, competition is fierce and if you can't wait or Panasonic doesn't meet your needs, then you pick another manufacturer that does.
