I did acid in the 80s and didn`t know what it was and could see in the dark because every bush and tree was covered in thousands of Christmas lights. I don`t know how long I was in the store where I went to get beer before I realized something was wrong. It was daytime when I walked in but well after dark when I left. I don`t think I used my headlights to get back to my friend`s home. The entire forest was blanketed in Christmas lights. It was the most amazing thing I`ve ever seen.

That whole scenario with the dentist dropping acid in their drinks really bothered me. I have tried LSD in my life and it really has to be structured and the environment has to be comfortable and familiar or there could be so many brutal consequences. That could of ended one or all of their lives had the driver been tripping and swerved off a cliff or into someone or something.

Thats why Brian Wilson ended up spiritually crippled for most of his life. LSD didnt ruin him. His vulnerability and angst along with LSD did that. If Brian didnt do drugs, he wouldve burned out only a few years later than expected. Its funny how adults criminalise video games yet theyre fine with LSD.

I've watched several of your video's now. I can't imagine the efforts you've put into all your research. Your presentations are very interesting and fun for me since I, like many others, was a Beatles fan from the beginning in 1964, after first, hearing their song "Love Me Do", then of course, after their Ed Sullivan appearance. I loved them so much that i was prude regarding other music of the time, much of which i've come to love and appreciate since then. Thanks for your video's and keep 'em coming !

I've been a Classic Rock fan since I was a boy and the music has had a powerful impact on my life. I've purchased my share of albums, attended hundreds of Rock concerts and read many, many books pertaining to the various bands I've enjoyed over the years. Having said that, no band has ever brought me more joy than The Beatles. Thanks to content creators such as "Film Retrospective", I am able to learn much more about The Beatles than I ever thought possible. Discovering the details of the band, their music production process, their inter-relationships, their personal lives, the deconstruction of the songs, the interviews, along with all the other minutiae that might get overlooked, it's all part of The Beatles experience. Your documentaries, sir, are remarkable. Well researched and written into a tight script each video is a wealth of knowledge and your narration matches the no-nonsense content perfectly. I have been looking forward to each new video you post since subscribing several months ago. From one Beatles fan to another thank you for the hard work you put into your content, it is greatly appreciated.

it was known that john when in the company of others would never permit anyone to talk badly of paul, only he reserved the right. there's also a legend when jerry lee lewis was performing at the roxy in la during john's lost weekend, jerry was gathered post show in the dressing room yapping with some friends when all of a sudden the door opened, john entered without saying a word, kneeled at jerry's feet, kissed them, got up and then exited. jerry was clueless who the stranger was but a friend revealed it was john.

One fact to correct - Brian died in 67 and the Beatles were in India in 68. They were going to hear him talk and he did advise them however. John should have known right there and then that something was up.

Fascinating stuff. I imagine fame and wealth can be a detriment to one's self-discipline and sense of personal responsibility. Lennon was clearly more troubled than anyone else in the group, but his cynicism, aggression and insecurity added a very important ingredient -- a crucial political ingredient -- to the band's personality and to its songs. I feel the returning of the MBE metal to Buck Palace was an act of integrity in which he was TRUE to himself and his beliefs. WOW! The ONE drug to really stay away from IMHO is alcohol, because it impairs judgment and stimulates aggression. I used to live just a few blocks from A&M Studios, and I had no idea about the bizarre Spector-Lennon sessions there -- at the exact same time I was going to Hollywood High a couple blocks away. My dad was in the music business, so I had been at A&M Studios on some rare occasions carrying stacks of sheet music for sessions.

Lennon and McCartney lost their Mothers as teenagers , but Paul had a better family life with his Dad ,brother aunts uncles, John had only a short time with his estranged Mother when she taught him some banjo chords and encouraged his music before she was killed, maybe that explained the darkness in some of his songs ,Paul's songs were generally more upbeat .

I used to be managed (music) by a woman who lived near Julian. When John died, apparently Julian walked into a pub rolled up a £20 note and lit it up as if it were a cigarette, stating that he’s minted now or words to that effect. Grief does strange things to people.

He treated Cynthia abysmally ... and Julian! I hope they were financially comfortable? A couple split amidst other couples is fractious and draws others in. Yoko seems a tw@t... how's she in the divorce meeting with Cynthia in there?? and YO leaves the room when John goes the toilet? Same thing as when she brought a bed to the recording studio when the Beatles made their next album. There's a time & place...

For the depiction of acid, (with alot of work) all you gatta do is just edit any ground surface of a picture with the swirl effect, and not the faces. [Or a complex way is by going along with the patterns of ground surfaces and make them naturally move.] Idk I feel like this might help be more accurate apposed to this depiction; Great work on the time put in the video production nonetheless!

But facts are facts and if you are pretending to be someone that knows what they're talking about you need to get your facts straight and he did not resent getting the metal from the queen. I'm gonna follow you just so I can correct you John Cynthia was not drunk there. He had had a beer they would've kicked him out if he was drunk. It was at the church. That's been talked about over and over and over again but he had a couple beers. Also John has said over and over again that it was Paul who is the more advanced musician. Anyone that knows them back then knows that fact. He taught John how to play the guitar because he used banjo chords on a guitar John could not play a regular guitar when they met. Get your fact straight
