I wonder how the poor kid dealt with this. 1) HIs mother gets murdered 2) He finds out that his "father" isn't really his father at all 3) His "father", whom he no doubt loves as his dad, killed his mom. 4) After living a privileged life and never needing to worry about money he finds out he's broke. That's a lot for anyone to cope with, but he was only 18. I hope he got counseling but even that will never put him back together as the whole human being he was. Poor kid.

I was in 4th grade when this happened, and was one of her music students. De mortuis nil nisi bonum, and all that, but it’s been over 20 years, and I can confidently assert that this guy’s description of her is the complete opposite of what my ten year-old classmates and I felt. We never looked forward to her lessons. My 4th grade self remembers her being terse, stern, way too serious, and impatient. None of us ever looked forward to the days when she’d come to teach us. I wouldn’t come out with that info, but I take umbrage with how THIS guy described her as a teacher. It was honestly the complete opposite. 4:07 -“She was a person who clearly touched each and every child she came in contact with, and had that special magic that brings school to life, and in her case, it was in the area of music”. R.I.P. Ms. Fitzhugh 🖤 No matter what you had going on in your life, you most certainly did not deserve to meet such a horrific and untimely end. At the end of school music recital in 2000, we sang two of the songs she taught us and dedicated it to her memory.

I guess the guy being interviewed felt he had to say something positive - he couldn't really say "She was a nasty bitch and all the kids hated her". I enjoyed reading your story and you're a better person than me. You experienced less than happy memories of her teaching you but was still able to put that aside and pay dignified respect to her memory. 🤍

People are quite often presented in the best light in their obituaries and after they have died. My dad was a dud, he was self-absorbed and I remember one time a neighbor asked him how old his two children were and he was off by three years. Three years. As we all know, not all murders are the same nor should be looked at or judged the same way. That's why there's a trial when all details come out. In this case, I have little sympathy for the victim, his wife. She not only cheated on him, had the boyfriend's kid, but also threatened to tell her ugly truth on the kid's graduation day to humiliate both the kid and her husband ! On the other hand, Ken brought the kid up as his own which a lot of men couldn't and wouldn't do. Ken got his punishment under the law and the only innocent victims here are the children.

You have to admit though: it's pretty funny that she decided to cheat on her husband with a guy fatter and uglier than he was lol. Not exactly trading up and it shows in the kids.
@sharonsmalls6846 Жыл бұрын
I agree she was a piece of work. She thought this was a celebratory action on the son's graduation day. Also, she wanted half of the sale of the house when the husband's estate afforded them the home.

Perhaps an enemy masquerading as a friend, but not a real friend. If your friends are a danger to you, you need better friends. Side note... Idk why the narrator said that in the first place. This story has nothing to do with dangerous friends. It's just another unsurprising instance of the one spouse killing the other.

It bothers me when people say someone is not acting like a person who is mourning . I have always been able to compartmentalize my emotions . In fact I do it instinctually . So I worry that if someone in my close circle meets a questionable end that I won't mourn the way investigators think I should . I did not shed a tear when my father died . He had cancer and I was happy he went quickly and doped up out of pain . But if he had an accident I am not sure how I felt about it would have shown . My mother is the same way . You just never can be sure about how we feel about anything .I might be tempted to act as people expect me to but I suspect I would be less than convincing and that would open up a whole new can of worms for me . So , I try to keep my nose clean

The mother’s figure speech her son’s graduation: “My dear child, lets raise a toast to your graduation gift, You have been lied to for your entire life. In fact, your real father is a criminal with whom I slept for most of my married life inside our family home. I don’t care about harm and confusion you must have endured, every time someone squinted their eyes and staired at our family photos. I didn’t care about the ridicule and pressure my husband endured, every time people rolled their eyes and whispered behind his back. I don’t care if for the rest of your life, this day is going to remind you betrayal and lies. It is all about me and I made sure of it. “ If it is Ok with everyone, I don’t feel as bad as a decent person should have, about what happened to Christeen.

He was a good husband and father accepting another man's son as his own. She on the other hand paid him back by planning to announce the 'truth' in the public AND on the kid's graduation day ? which not only would humiliate her husband but also the son ! My sympathy for her is very very low !
@Poopookachew13 жыл бұрын
Besides murder, this is a textbook case of cuckoldry and the weird lengths some women will go to in order to avoid the fallout from their decisions by doing the very thing that will make it worse. Unfortunately the husband followed suit by both destroying his family in a moment of violence and then trying to cover up his part in it. Enough time tolerating that toxic of a partner, you end up assuming some of their traits. But, people love them their financial security.

1:35 "He and two coworkers drove to the house to see if she was there" Husband did it. Didnt watch past this point yet, haven’t read comments. Him bringing 2 coworkers with him to check on his wife is enough to tell me he did it. Most of us would just go alone to our own home.

His wife wasn't innocent. She not only cheated and had her boyfriend's kid, but also threatened to tell her ugly truth to the public right on the kid's graduation day to humiliate both the kid and her husband ! On the other hand, Ken brought up this kid like his own. So up to the murder, she was the villian and he was the saint.
@evelynwaugh4053 Жыл бұрын
Perhaps not so unusual. He likely had no prior criminal record, and the possible circumstances regarding the oldest son may have aroused strong feelings, leading to the Murder 2nd degree charge, rather than 1st. Basically, the court didn't think this was premeditated, just that he intended it, and learning of marital betrayal does tend to humiliate and incense people.
