The Tom Johnson computer robbery-murder case long bothered me as I was not too too much younger than the couple back when this happened in 1992. While officially the case was never solved, off the official record the police had a good suspect named Tom Peebles, who owned a computer business. He was implicated in a robbery-murder in 1993 that was strikingly similar to the Marietta case...Peebles died by suicide in prison in 1994.
@aubreymorgan97632 жыл бұрын
thanks for that!
@austinballard68152 жыл бұрын
@@aubreymorgan9763 you're welcome. It's a case where if the off the record suspect hadn't died soon soon, in 1994, the Marietta case might well have gone forward. Heather's fiance died in a car crash in South Africa in 1997, yet another unfortunate blow to the case. So awful

thanks for the update! that segment was scary as a kid watching in the 90s. computers weren't as commonplace as they are today and i thought whoever did that had to be a evil, demonic individual.

It’s crazy that a 40 dollar trac phone from walmart in 2023 has multiple times the computing power as that 30,000 computer did back then🤯

I really don't know what my folks paid for our 2nd computer back then, but I recall wondering what the hell a guy would ever do with a 2gb hard drive. Who could possibly use all that space?

Christina DID have a major role in the disappearance of her 5 year old daughter. By leaving her outside alone for 20 whole minutes in the evening without parental supervision.
@Raw-Beauty212 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I don't care if it was right outside! She's FIVE for goodness sake! But I think she played a bigger than that cuz I believe that she might've sold her! Remember, she did have a history of stealing drugs. The child's father even believes the same thing.

I would never ever leave my 5-year-old child alone outside for not even a whole minute. Ever! 20 minutes outside alone is ridiculous!

kinda weird that one killer took out a mother and child and a lady says you can't use the phone and he backs down

1) NEVER be taken to a secondary location and NEVER let em tie you up. 2) have some basic self defense(especially disarms) training,it takes 20 minutes a day to train a few techniques into muscle memory. There's PLENTY of learning content online to use as reference material. Boxing,jkd,BJJ,krav maga,kempo,wing chun are good places to start. 3) carry a self defense tool at ALL times. Learn how to effectively use it...quickly. 4) if the tihs get sticky...go ALL out. Rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.👀🙏🏾💯💯💯💯💯💯💪🏾🧔🏾♂️

There was a suspect in the case who died of a drug overdose in Prison. He sort of matched the description, first name was tom, he was found guilty of murder in a similar manner by luring someone to a motel room. the mystery is this woman who tried to stop it, why did she never come forward? if it was some random woman i am assuming they would. Also i am assuming Mac would have the SN of this Mac. The fact it never came up in all these years is nuts.
@blackflyingfox33654 ай бұрын
The gun was to scare them into doing what he said. But he knew it would make too much noise and alert the other guests at the hotel. So he had the hammer and thought he would just quietly knock them out. He didn't expect they would start screaming and yelling as they were being hit with the hammer. He left the hammer with the number still on it and they still couldn't find out what store he bought the hammer at? That would have cracked the case if they got him on CCTV buying the hammer. They caught a truck driver living in another state because of some brass hex nuts but they can't find this guy.

Jeremy and Heather should not have travelled so far without having some kind of protection themselves. First they shouldn't have put that computer into Tom's car until it was paid for and they should have took the computer and left when they got back from breakfast and his so called business partner wasn't there.
