Neena Gupta was ahead of her time. Living life on her own terms. Getting pregnant by a foreigner, outside of marriage, and keeping the child, instead of aborting it. Then raising her daughter. Doing that, while being in the limelight and possibly risking her career, due to the kind of media scrutiny or support she could receive, in those days, that too, in India, was incredibly courageous. Neena Gupta has been herself, unapologetically.
