I usually wash my wool stuff in the tub with some wool specific soap, I haven't had any issues. Just soak it and work it around a bit then lay flat to dry.

I too am huge fan of wool products. I have several Irish sweaters and flat caps. I never wash my wool.

Use baby shampoo to wash your wool on delicates on a cold setting on your machine, you won’t have any shrinkage then and the baby shampoo won’t kill the wools natural oil, i use 50 ml of baby shampoo with just the one item , i think people forget that wool is a protein product and needs to treated like your skin, interested to see how your mackinaw anorak comes out, I have one and was going to wash it in the way I have just described ! 👍🏻

Can you review the Filson Forest Cloth Cruiser, Pullover and Pants? Thanks. I have the old model 860(?) whipcord pants from the 70's, they still look like new and are great hunting and outdoor pants. Very tight weave, virtually windproof. Used them on late elk hunts for years.

Hey man, Been enjoying your vids for some years now. Keep up the good work! Recently got my hand on the Seattle wool pullover jac shirt in grey. Just like yours. Since its a limited edition its hard to find any information about it. Filson themselves did not know anything. The label says Made in USA (with imported material). Do you know which material is imported? Have a good one!

@wild for wool I purchased a large jac-shirt a few weeks ago. It’s too big. I’m swimming in it and Filson isn’t willing to do an exchange for a medium. Wondering if you’d recommend washing it in warm water? I know this is risky but I was thinking it would shrink it a bit and make it feel like a medium (or large in any other brand). I’m 5.10 1/2. Thanks so much. Great reviews

Hello, will this JAC-SHIRT in Seattle Wool 18oz be windresistent like Filson say? I will use this as liner for my MACKINAW WOOL CRUISER JACKET because this will let all wind thru. Or is the QUILTED PACK JACKET the better option for this?

I think I saw the grey one on sale for 20 dollars on the filson site. I was gonna get it but was too slow. Have been beating myself since
@HappyHounds11 ай бұрын
No way it was $20..its like a 395$ shirt that's 195$ on 50 off sales... You maybe saw socks on sale for $20
@AJFRAN311 ай бұрын
@@HappyHounds nah man it was an actual wool shirt on sale for 20 bucks. I don't know how many they were selling they were sold out but people were able to buy it in their final sale. That was like 2 years ago though. When they are offloading their old merchandise for their next catalog they do sales like that for some items and they sell out within an hour or 2 normally it's crazy

I just ordered the jac shirt in oxblood. I ordered it because it’s lined in the body and sleeves so I don’t get the itchiness from the wool. Anybody have any opinion on it?

10,000th viewer ;) Thanks for the videos, wish there were more reviews, especially since I order from Europe and when you know the prices of these jac-shirts, you don't want to take any risk. By the way what do you think of the price-per-wear or price-versatility ratio compared to a cotton over-shirt? I mean you probably can't wear it on its own in winter and in summer it might quickly get too warm no?
@wildforwool38212 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I will be doing a new video dedicated to the Jac shirts very soon. I’ll consider figuring out the price versatility ratio. I’ve been quit surprised by the versatility tho. I find myself wearing the 18oz one In the summer more than you’d think but definitely not when it’s to warm. I’ll consider getting more in depth with the temps I’m comfortable wearing it in with the next video

I could not find those pull overs on their website. Can you provide a link?
@wildforwool38213 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the pullovers were discontinued earlier this year. Customer service told me they don’t plan on making anymore at this point. There is a wish list on the Filson website, if enough people add it to their wish list I was told they might do another run of them.

What’s your height and weight? I was looking to get a size 40 on an older model in the Jac shirt and I’m 6’1 175… heard filson runs really big. I’m usually a medium tts.
@wildforwool38212 жыл бұрын
I’m 5.9 and 155 pounds. Filson recommends tall for people over 6ft tall. And they do have a tall option on the website right now. But depending on how you like your fit I’m assuming the medium should still fit just won’t give as much length. Medium fits me well but I get larger if I want the extra room for excessive layering

Isn't part of the reason filsons is so expensive due to the lifetime warranty? Why not just return it for a larger size? Obviously the one you shrunk may no longer be warrantied because of it, but deciding it isn't the right size and exchanging it for a larger one seems reasonable.
