When purging the filter bags in a dust collection system, both high velocity and high pressure principles can be involved, but they are used for different purposes in the cleaning process: 1. High Pressure Principle: This is primarily used in the pulse-jet cleaning method described in the video. In this system, compressed air is released in short bursts (pulses) at high pressure. This burst of high-pressure air is directed through the center of the filter bags, causing a sudden expansion and a reverse flow of air that dislodges accumulated dust particles from the outside surface of the filter bags. The high pressure is crucial for ensuring that the dust cake formed on the filter surface is effectively dislodged and falls into the hopper below. 2. High Velocity Principle: While the primary cleaning mechanism involves high pressure, the resultant high velocity air generated during the pulse can also play a role. The high velocity of the air pulse helps in rapidly dislodging the dust particles from the filter bags and carrying them away from the filter surface. The velocity helps in transporting the dust particles into the hopper or dust collection area below the filters. @@hemanthkumar9893 You’re right in noting that, under certain conditions, there is an inverse relationship between pressure and velocity-this is described by Bernoulli’s principle, which states that in a steady, incompressible flow, an increase in the speed of the fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in pressure or potential energy. However, the context of a pulse-jet cleaning system is a bit different: 1. Pulse-Jet Cleaning System Dynamics: In a pulse-jet cleaning system, high-pressure compressed air is stored and then released in short bursts or pulses, which is approx 200 miliseconds. When this compressed air is suddenly released, it accelerates rapidly through the system, creating a high-velocity jet of air, as it passes through precisely designed small nozzle having opening of 6-10 mm depending upon application. 2. Localized High Pressure and High Velocity: At the point where the compressed air is released, there is initially high pressure. As the air expands rapidly out of the nozzle or pulse valve, it converts its potential energy (pressure) into kinetic energy (velocity). This rapid expansion creates both a localized area of high pressure (at the point of release) and high velocity (as the air moves away from the point of release). 3. Pulse and Airflow Interaction: The high-pressure pulse is designed to create a shock wave that travels through the filter bags. This pulse is short but powerful, causing a rapid burst of airflow (high velocity) that effectively dislodges dust from the filter surfaces. Although the pressure may decrease as the air expands and velocity increases, the system is engineered to ensure that both the pressure at the nozzle and the velocity of the resulting air jet are sufficient to perform the cleaning action. In this specific application, both high pressure and high velocity are present but in different stages and areas within the system. Initially, there is high pressure at the release point (inside the pulse valve), which then translates into high velocity as the air expands outwards. The high pressure is crucial for the initial burst to loosen dust, and the resulting high velocity is necessary to carry dislodged particles away from the filter surface. So, while in a controlled environment with steady flow, pressure and velocity might have an inverse relationship, in the pulse-jet system, the rapid pulsing mechanism utilizes high pressure to create high velocity air jets effectively. The fan is connected wrong on the video :-) Instead of inlet, the fan has connected outlet with the dust collector.

Dear Valued Subscriber, Blower is on the correct position. Here blower is creating negative pressure/suction with high velocity to collect dust from source/origin of dust. Therefore there is a dust collection system between source of dust and blower installed to collect all debris or contaminants to retain inside the dust collector. Resulting into the clean air as per desired emission level through dust collector. Finally it delivers to the atmosphere through the chimney Hope this reply sounds in order to you.
