When the insoles are stubborn like that, I use a heat gun to melt the light glue they placed from the stitching…it comes clean off…💯

Wow! this is very impressive! i wanted to start restoring shoes for myself but i tend to be very impatient. do you know how long the whole restoration process can take? Great job on the shoes by the way!

Hey thank you for your support 😀. Most steps requires some level of waiting to perform properly and in the end you’ll probably save more time by avoiding mistakes. The shoes in my videos are super beat and take 2-3 days total to restore.

What sand grid did you use for painting

I washed an old beat up pair of Laney 5s (2000) and the paint from the front of the tongue started to peel off. How would you go about repainting that part?

I’m guessing it’s a nubuck/durabuck type of material. If you really wanted to touch up those areas, 50:50 ratio of 2-soft and the color match. I would recommend leaving it alone though.

I think you def could have just repainted the mesh since they tapped out during your ice box sessions. Also i noticed in a lot of your restorations the toe box seems to be consistently pointy idk if that has to do with a shoe tree ur using? Lastly i think you could have attempted a reshape at the ankle, and toe box a bit. But other than that some great work, you absolutely did an excellent job on what i would think are the difficult portions of this restoration. KEEP IT UP

I think the pointy look of the toe box comes from the shoe tree he uses. It’s one the can be adjusted to increase the tension in it to have a tight fit into the shoe

Thank you for your support. I draw the shoe trees out so it relaxes the creases, and allows me to skip the iron on some pairs. The front piece could’ve been sanded more, but I left it as it adds a little character. As for painting the mesh, it would look out of place in my opinion since it needs to be translucent.

I don’t think you’ve restored shoes before. You’d be surprised what shoe trees, a wash, and some elbow grease will do. Calm down damn it’s in your name
