Filtreau Combi 3000 Next

So this is my new filter system! when I was like a child waiting for xmas I was trying to find videos of this filter online but theres not many detailed ones.
I've done the best I can so you can see in up close

Very nice combi unit! The noise would probably wake me up in the summer though and the neighbours lol for now il use a sieve haha

Yea that's one of the down sides, I cant use clay anymore as it keeps triggering a clean lol I panic about the neighbours

Thanks for doing this vid.,I've just bought one of these - after doing lots of research and knowing what features I wanted, this unit is very hard to beat and unbeatable for the price. I'm sure I'll come back to check your setup again !

@@JGlover123 nothing crazy pathetic jet only kicks in when the float switch is activated for 5 seconds. All u have running 24,7 is the uv and return pump

Hi Dan, excellent video...I have a similar set up and I have a cycling error meaning it cycles too often and expels a lot of water. Is there any way I can reset this???

Hi Dan, trying to work out if this will fit down the side of our garage and into the garden, looking at your photo of you moving the filter into place the width looks just a bit wider than your shoulders? But the measurements on all web sites it’s almost 1m x 1m can you confirm the width please, great video

Hi pal. U know the plate where the sprayed water goes to the wast pipe the horizontal gap under it is the max line. Don't go to low as the float switch will trigger the drum wash a lot more Hope this helps

Hi there. A couple of questions if i may. The manufacturer does not supply a manual so some guessing going on with this drum. Mine is also set up gravity fed. Do you know if the controller is supposed to switch off the booster pump (cleaning pump) as well as your pump which return water to the pond, if the water level stays low in the drum side? I think my screen is too dirty (will address that next) and i am getting too much draw down in the drum causing it to constantly trigger a wash. It keeps cycling continuously thus draining the pond. The controller will shut down the return pumps but it will not shut down the booster (cleaning) pump. I come out with about a quarter of the pond drained and the booster pump running continuously. I just tried cleaning the drum with some hydrogen peroxide (just 3%) and a tooth brush. It got a bit of the bio off but only on the outside. Would have to remove entire drum screen to wash it. Plan on doing that when i shut down the pond for the winter just in case i have any issue with the screen removal process. They say its easy but i have not seem a video on it yet. As for the reason the drum is so dirty is i believe that the UV was not in operation for this season. Apparently there are some bad parts in the UV and they need to be replaced. I have yet to receive my new UV for my unit. Its been over 6 months now. No info from the manufacturer. Bad customer service on their part. I believe the UV helped keep the screen from bio buildup. They are making a 110 screen and this may help solve this bio buildup issue.

Hey Dan, still have not decided on type of RDF to go for. Time is running out as I am now ready for it. So one final post. Please give me your honest positives and negatives . Also how good is your water clarity ; Have you had any problems with the nozzles blocking up; Is there any dead spots in the media chamber; is there any media sticking to the cages at the outlets. Everyone keeps saying how noisy this filter is, can this be subdued . Your help and cooperation is much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Pal, no issues with noise, no blockage problems, no dead spots, I have never had a problem (touch wood). Last winter the pipe froze and stopped it from working but that's to be expected, A 600w heater in the intake fixed this. I have fines when heavy feeding but not one for hoovering the bottom. Hope this helps

Hi Dan, what size pipe did you connect your spray bar to it seems to vary, as an inch is to big and 3/4inch to small. Cheers

I think it might be 3/4 with an adaptor just before it enters the spray bar. For some reason 1inch is ring a bell also

Hi Dan, I know your closing down but I have a question, how did you wire the power in? Did you use a box or fit a 3 pin plug?

I used a weatherproof junction box and ran a flex feed to a outside socket pal, hope this helps

Yea it's great the drum catches loads, I was surprised how much on a daily basis. I'd say it's worth it. Well built compact UV, does everything in one box

Les I was told that the water level cannot go over the hole in the back where the waste comes out, so anything under that u will be ok

Hi. I live in US and bought mine just over a year ago. Been giving me nightmares for the last 10 months. Non functioning drum gets stuck and won’t turn. Initially would have to use my hand to nudge it forward and now hasn’t worked at all. Dealer not helping and ignoring many of us with similar problems. The motor housing is a tan color not black like yours. Inside our motor says Made in China. Is yours made in Europe? Ours was claimed to be so too. I am thinking we got a copy cat version that cost over $4k US dollars. Torii Koi Farm in NY. The steel casing of motor leaks and the gears inside rust rendering the drum useless in a short period of time.

@@ANDY-we7mr I've still not upgraded the pipework at the back pal with lockdown and work etc. I did Tee the waste gate valve to the drain tho and the 1.5inch rubber reducer to 4inch worked ok

dan there reckon the draco solum 16 with moving bed a better filter all togeather mate not mutch noise real quite as well so its a top up between the draco and the filtreu combi 3000
