Orchestra: Camerata Fiestravaganza
Conductor: Evan-Alexis Christ
Location: Recorded live @ University of the Arts Berlin on 22nd July 2024
Following its overwhelming success last year, "Concerto Fiestravaganza" returned to Berlin in summer 2024 for not one, but TWO exhilarating evenings brimming with Piano Concertos! In what can only be described as a concerto marathon, audiences experienced TWO contrasting gigantic programs spanning timeless classics such as Grieg's and Schumann's Piano Concertos in A minor, Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor and many more!
Promoting the concept of young orchestra musicians supporting even younger soloists, Concerto Fiestravaganza features selected participants from the Fiestravaganza International Music Academy (FIMA), a summer academy offering particularly young pianists worldwide a variety of opportunities otherwise hard to obtain in one’s early career, guided by masterclasses and workshops led by renowned professors.
They were joined by Berlin-based Singaporean Pianist Shaun Choo and the Camerata Fiestravaganza under the baton of Evan-Alexis Christ. The chamber orchestra brings together over 50 talented musicians from diverse cultures and ethnicities, the majority of which are current students from the three major Universities of music in Berlin - Universität der Künste, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler and Barenboim-Said Akademie.
