As I mentioned yesterday in your other short video, yes I had the out of focus issue in the upper left corner but: I'm from the center of Italy and yesterday we had 10 degrees and the footage returned perfect! Another confirmation of what you reported!

Oh wow, it seems really bad. I'll try when i'll fix my mini 3 since it disconnected mid flight and landed in a plant :( . I contacted fimi customer service and they blamed it on me (i've sent everything i had including blackbox files). Luckily I convinced them to send me the broken part (middle frame) for 15 USD including shipping. Package has today landed here in italy...

I wonder if they are getting cold? Given the minimal weight there is only passive cooling on these things. Cold/cool air in underneath, warm air out the sides. Great for summer. Like driving a car with the windows down as your AC. So, what would you do in winter? Leave the windows open, or close them? Maybe even restrict the air intake. Some tape might be an idea. I suspect many have some orange electrical tape in their toolbox.

They seemed to fix the issue with the X8 Mini V2 and the X8SE 2022... but not the new stuff. I was thinking an air flow issue as well and want to tape up some air vents to see if it makes a difference.

Have you tried a lower frame rate change, too? For example, 30 or 24 recorded frames from the CCD RAM buffer. The Camera needs a warm plate like the X8 Series to keep the drone at operating temperature.

I have to admit I do not fully understand some of what you say... I can only say that ... This should not be an issue in 2024 as Fimi have had the same issue for years before. They just do not test their products prior to release!

unfortunately they did not evaluate the RC remote control connection problem that I experienced with my film x8 mini drone under warranty. When I wrote to Fimi, they told me to contact Fimi Turkey but they did not care at all. This attitude of Fimi has completely destroyed Fimi in my heart. I just bought a dji Neo and I am very happy.

Fix the cold weather. It also causes global warming turning up the heat :) Kind of strange problem. I know the 2022 and 2022 V2 have a wait for camera or gimbal warming up before flying. There are fake vents on those drones. If there are actual or fake vents on effected drones maybe masking tape for insulation would help. Maybe start with drone warmed up inside.

@@GorillamansGarage Then it's likely the foam mounting stiffening during cold weather that allows vibration to shake the camera. Flip the drone over and that's what I see on the X8 2022 and V2. The foam mounting is on sides and roof of pivot. Although maybe the wire routing allows vibrations to transmit from body to the camera connection. No correct foam could cancel that. Good luck.

@@GorillamansGarage Does it have jello in the cold before turning the engine on is one trouble shooting elimination. Turning it on in the warm then setting outside and other trouble shooting eliminations might help. I kind of only recall the jello observation while flying. Do you hear The Twilight Zone music when it happens is another trouble shooting method. Used to hear the jaws music diving. Anyway there is also a lens shrinkage from cold making destabilized encoding for a smooth video. That's another reason for wavy output.

@@nightwaves3203 : Ive never heard of a glass lens shrinking. Jello only on the X8 Tele after a few miutes of flight.. just like the historical findings. Fimi did fix it in the X8 Mini V2 and the X8 SE 2022.

I made an offline map of 4 waypoints for my Fimi mini 3 this morning temp. was 2°C. After starting and hovering, I went to history to start my trip, and to my chagrin, the screen showed 27 waypoint tracks all starting from the drone and shooting in all directions. Needless to say I didn't take off. I'm watching you, Fimi. I have till Jan. 31 to return mine to Amazon if found defective, and this sure looks like a defect. There are a lot of fine drones for sale now. 😜

@@GorillamansGarage I had the same issue where all my prior waypoint missions were merged onto one screen. It was impossible to correct by deleting older waypoint missions. Re-installing the app (Android) fixed the issue...so far.

@@GorillamansGarage Thanks, that fixed it. I think I will reinstall previous every flight. Programmed a waypoint mission offline and it flew it even with a lot of signal loss.

My Mini 3 got terribly out of focus round 15 C. But I doubt is was a temperature issue.

I wrote to fimi about the problem and asked for previous firmwares (only to try - to understand if the problem is about the firmware).... They request too many things other than problem solving.... I bought mini 3 two months ago and now I am totally regretful...sorry...

I agree.. I bought the X8 Tele, the Fimi Mini 3 & the Fimi Mini SE... For that I could have bought an Air 2S Combo RC2 kit.
