@Ishai13 ай бұрын
The system is also a great fit for him. He's on pace to have a career season shooting 3s. His best was two seasons ago, 288 threes in 80 games. That's 3.6 a game, he's at 4.7 right now. Like he said, he's never been more free. Playing in this system and next to Steph will do that.
@greyklopstock71553 ай бұрын
@@Ishai1people were saying "wait for him to fall off..." Like, if he drops 10%, he'll STILL be at 41%! Buddy Hield has such a crazy fast release, and in case everyone forgot, Klay Thompson wasn't exactly known for being able to boogie with the basketball off the dribble. So you slot Buddy in, and instead of telling him to guard the other team's best guard and shoot threes, you're basically saying "dog, if you have any space, let it fly. Just launch or cut, we got the rest." The bad habits of players sometimes only happen cause of poor schematic fit. Being forced to make reads or do stuff that's outside your skill set, you're gonna have inefficient stretches. But we're basically only asking him to do the stuff he's elite at. If he's at 16ppg shooting 40% from three OFF THE BENCH for the season, that's FANTASTIC production

I've watched every Warriors game so far and they are set for a terrific season. Outside of a sloppy game against the Clips, they've been great. Ideally, Kerr keeps Curry's minutes around 20-25 a night (that didn't happen tonight).
@dwightazupardo28483 ай бұрын
Kerr had no choice but to put Steph out there a bit longer, Podz was out, Melton was out, and there was no true PG to run the 2nd unit. But it is okay though, if the team is they play is a bit weaker, then play the bench a bit more. If it is a play-off team, then we need steph out there as a decoy to space the floor for others
@Ishai13 ай бұрын
I think when it's close in the 4th quarter, especially against great teams, he'll put him back in sooner. Playing 34 once in a while is fine, they just need to put weaker teams away and not let them back in the game.
@tiredbasketballfan3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure 20-25 is a great idea. It was this way to start the season because of all the blowouts and the injury, but ideally you'd want him around 30-32 and as long as it's a team effort instead of 'Curry carry us' he should be totally fine

Well, if he was a bit taller, or faster, or never got injured, he wouldn't be on this team right now or maybe ever. If he was bigger someone would've offered him a bigger contract and the Warriors wouldn't be able to match with their salary cap situation the last time he extended.
