Notre Dame regular season P4 resume: -tier 1-3: none -tier 4: 4-0 -tier 5: none -tier 6: 1-0 -tier 7: 1-0 -tier 8: 2-0 ND’s postseason resume: -tier 1: 2-0 (with 1 left to play) -tier 2: 1-0 Really goes to show how overrated Strength of Schedule is as a metric

Strength of schedule coupled with game control or margin is a great metric, but all the anti-style points crowd is gonna flame me for this. ND making it was bad news for the anti-style crowd

@@RadicallyOptimisticstrength of schedule is trash lmfao they overrated the sec n blue blood programs with their recruits for example if a 4 start commits to Georgia they gon make him a 5 star n when a 5 start commits to a small school they drop ratings

It’s even more overrated than that. ND had no upper tier games that they lost. PSU, Indiana, Texas, etc had major bumps in sos for losing

@@RadicallyOptimistic⁠⁠margin cannot be used by cfbp criteria. Why not include teams like psu, Indiana, Texas, etc? I guess they lacked “style points”.

SMU and BYU should also be in tier #2. If ole Miss & Indiana are tier 2 , they gotta be in tier 2. Id also include TCU Duke and Kansas state in tier 4.

@ oh yes undefeated in hypotheticals. Tennessee would get crushed by Colorado and Ole Miss would get crushed by Miami. Or actually, ole Miss would lose to the last place team in both conferences, the same way they lost to Kentucky. And Tennessee would get blown out by the 4th place team in both conferences, the same way Ohio State blew them out!

Agree with your tier 1 and tier 2 exactly. I agree with your tier 3 almost exactly. Syracuse and Miami should be in the same tier or Syracuse should be above Miami. They have the same record and Syracuse has the head-to-head. I'd probably just bump Syracuse up one tier. Tier 4: I have Kansas State, TCU, and Duke in with these teams. They have similar or better records to other teams in this tier. I didn't evaluate the lower tiered teams, but your tiers seem fair. Overall, I like your tiers.

The arguments you made for Ole miss to stay in tier two, are the same arguments you could make for BYU to be moved up to tier 3. All of their losses came down to the very last play. They dominated their bowl game 🤷‍♂️

BYU is in tier 3. If you meant tier 2, I do think they have a case and wouldn't have an issue with them being there. The difference for me is wins by one score against some pretty bad/mediocre teams: Baylor, Oklahoma State, UCF, and Utah. All of Ole Miss' wins were by 2+ scores. But again. I do see your argument.
