It might be related to the lighting effects setting (reduce flashing lights has no impact on the prestige effect)

@@CHUUCUTIE 1. Save every dupe you get for evolving/prestige with a much greater emphasis on evolving. Sacking stuff for XP is going to bite later on when you need material to evolve something into diamond or even gold at your stage in the game. 2. Free theonite: at first build your roster with premiere multis, then after you have enough decent stuff to do story content comfortably, you can afford to run on free relics from gifts, rift/PF rewards, and deployments while saving up your theonite for the three 5k theonite hyper variety progression offers available to all newer players (one for completing Accursed Experiments for the first time, one for level 60, and one for level 70). 3. Daily events: For character dailies go through and beat the highest difficulty daily of each character that you can once, then each day use the tickets to skip and get free stuff. Holodeck is great for XP, but be forewarned that doing a ton of Holodeck will also raise your player level very quickly, which can cause the level 60 hyper variety to show up before you are ready for it. 4. Combat: Try to get out of the habit of mashing attacks if that is how you play. While mashing works fine against lower level AI in easy content, by the time you are playing in Rift or higher difficulty story content the AI will punish you way harder for mashing. Instead be more patient and either block or do intercepts into a full punish. Intercepts are especially useful for when the AI has a BB3 ready and your carry has no access to meter control.
