I just finished reading Final Cut and enjoyed it more than I expected (Black Hole and Last Look didn’t do much for me.) I agree with you on the coloring and Burns incorporating varied styles and presentations through both the sketchbook and the cinema screen. Yes the color is very effective and i appreciate burns kept things ‘real’ without the fantastical or violence. Very pleased with the book and your review. I’ll need to check it your other videos. Thanks

I read it and have a similar opinion to yours. It's a nice book (as an object) and the art is off the charts. However, I think that the story lacks depth in some respects. It's relatively short, straightforward, and uneventful.

@@MarcsKZbin I can understand that. It's certainly an understated story, and straightforward in regards to being easy to follow (particularly for a Burns book). I wouldn't call it uneventful though; there are small developments happening constantly that don't jump out, but which have major effects on the characters. And just like with a movie, a lot of my enjoyment comes from shot selection and composition, and Burns's choices on how to tell this story are as important to me as the story itself.
