FINAL DAY WITH THE DEMO | CAB TOUR | WOOD CHIPS | CHRISTMAS TREES

Today I'm shifting feed and wood chips with the demo Arion 650, tour the cab and final verdict on how we got on with it.
My name is Crawford and I’m a farmer.
Being a farmer is more than a job; it’s a way of life. The good days can involve bringing new life onto the farm or sunny days outdoors whilst on others it's dealing with machinery breakdowns and on the worst days, sometimes animal deaths.
Farming can be isolating at times - away from the busy streets and city life - so this platform brings you closer to the inner workings showing the highs and lows and everything in between.
I hope to bring some context to how the food ends up on your plate, from your Sunday roasts to morning porridge and even the tulips on your kitchen table. Hopefully a bit of agricultural education along the way.
This video captures the latest goings on including crop management and our efforts to increase sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

Another great video Crawford. Yeah you’re right about how low the claas is the floor. Not ideal if you’re baling last thing you want is engine blowing up due to blockage of straw.

On my second claas admittedly four cylinder but we've been running them and the six cylinder for years. Always very comfortable as where the Renaults before.

Great video Crawford as for the Claas drove a 820 for a while great traction in it and comfortable but it leaked oil like a sieve from new on the spools it was traded in for a lexion as there were electric problems as well silly little things but the service from the dealer was absolutely brilliant the engine was great serious power it been fiat power train similar to the one in your new holland they are unbeatable and in lot of tractors as well as fiats own brand as in new holland case styer

Interesting to hear your honest views on the Claas tractor I have been a loyal Claas combine fan for many years however I am a Case IH man as far as tractors are concerned I know that a lot of purchase decisions are based on dealer backup.👍

Yeh backup is almost more important in my eyes. Try to say it as it is, not driven much else tho so hard to compare

Pros of the claas are suspension, comfort, and for us the backup is the best in the area, the clearance we fine for baling. Cons were that it was a little bit noisy. We tried the cebis though, the one you've had is the CIS spec which can't take the vario you'd wither if you wanted vario have a cis+ or cebis

The new Massey 8 series tractor looks a really lovely tractor and good saying from people with them but depends is you have a dealer close

I agree that the class is quite noisy, also think it’s quite a small frame which is good for some jobs but not so much for ploughing and draft work, looking forward to the next demo, it’s nice to see other people’s opinions, great video again mate, see the subscription are creeping up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I drive a arion 550 at work absolutely no bother at all just wish my boss got the 650 as it's a 6 cylinder not a 4 but smooth as anything pulls the tanker no bother and a 20 tone waggon every day very reliable

Used a smaller Arion (440 I think) for a few days over the summer. Pulled ok with a trailer full of 40 big square bales. Wasn’t a fan of the pickup hitch on the spools and I found it too easy to move the gear toggle too far and drop a range instead of just one gear in the field, probably just needs getting used to and would be ok.

Toggle must have been improved or maybe its tight as its new but not easy to accidentally drop a range on that 650!

I have a claas 650 and 610. Find them a good tractor the 650 is on 42s loads of ground clearance for baling it’s main job is baling over the summer

@@CrawfordsFarm1 had the 800 on demo over the summer heavy tractor great for ploughing but the hitch was low enough, it was on high side wall 38s can’t remember the size. The 650 is putting out 184hp on the pto was in for a Sevrice and asked them to dyno it. It has 3100 hours on it now.

@@CrawfordsFarm1 No problem running claas from 2014 can’t fault them. As you said there is good and bad things but I find a lot more good. I’m waiting on a price for a 660 cebis at the moment, I want to be sitting down i say.

Think dealer said difference from bottom spec arm to top spec cebis arm was 3k or so

I drive a 14 reg for farmer on and off can't say any thing bad only fault I have it has loader and it too big for loader work I buy one if buying tractor
