My dear Diego; I just met you an hour ago at the pizza place downtown San Diego. I am Marco Polo the Colombian guy and now that I am watching your video, I can see what I told you even that I didn't know who you were at that moment, but from my own experience and sensitivity that you where a real bike rider. Congratulations GOD put you in my path to be inspire by some one that is doing exactly what I will like to do for the rest of my life, whatever the time is left for me, before I go to heaven. I will be in touch with you to learn how I can increase my endurance even at my age 72, which is almost the age of any of your uncles, since you are younger than me. GOD BLESS YOU have a great life. I consider you my friend from this moment on.

Jon, you are very kind, thank you. The hurricane missed us in the Keys but inevitably it struck other in the Fort Myers area with serious consequences. They will rebuild and be stronger for it in the long run, I hope. Also, thank you for your support, you've been doing so for a long time. I hope to stay healthy and continue growing this channel and pushing anyone interested in the content to get out there and get passionate about anything healthy. Launch date is June 20,2023 Do you have a playlist of ALL your vids?? I’m going back to the beginning and watch them all again I’ll be waiting for you! a-LAS-KUH! Lol

Yeah, you getting out there is what it's all about. June '23 will be soon enough and that's a great time of year to start touring except it can be really hot in the southern half of the country. The northern route would be great but still hot at times. Let me know what you are thinking. Yeah the playlists are there. I'll take a look and be sure they are all finished up. As for my channel, I'm touring now and gathering great content looking to get into some trouble as winter comes on. Season 3 is happening. Alaska had to wait. I was way too busy with editing the remaining episode before taking off as well as building the new bike. I had to start way too late to go to Alaska. It will happen though. Probably next year. Thank you for being there supporting my channel all this time. Be safe out on the road. Thank you, Dale

Congratulations Diego! Of course I knew that when you sent a text to me after you finished. I'm glad I met you through Warmshowers back in Ohio in August. It makes these videos more interesting. You did a great job filming and documenting. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. And experiencing the journey through you. I do wish on your next journey you would wear brighter clothing and/or something brighter on your bike. The front light is good. All these positive comments, and I send a (sort of) negative one, but I am concerned for your safety. I have to tell myself to remember to turn on the back light, even on clear bright days. I'm sure all the viewers are wondering how/what you did through Hurricane Ian.
@FlyscoutRyder2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue. Sorry for such a delay responding, I've been touring the PNW and there is awesome camping aplenty so off the wifi for sometime. Thank you for all your support starting with hosting me in Ohio thru Warmshowers. That was a fun time getting to meet a fellow cyclist of your caliber. I hoped you would keep interested in the channel and it means a lot to me that you reached out here and there to let me know you were supporting the project. I hear you about the brighter clothes. My go to now is a bright orange and a green one that I've had since the first tour. I do wear that dark green windbreaker that is not bright at all but I am so attached 😫. I am using it less though. I added one vest for this tour that has some orange. On the new bike I am using the SON Dynamo hub and is lighting up both my front and rear lights anytime I ride wether day or night. Not at night if I can help it. Thank you for worrying about me ☺️, I promise to stay hyper focused. About the hurricane, It passed us to the west and far enough to avoid damage to most of the Florida Keys except for the actual city of Key West which suffered some damage but not terrible overall. Thank you for all your support watching the channel and letting me know you approve of the content. I look forward to starting Season 3 edits by year's end and share more of this country and how fun it is to travel on two wheel. Let's keep at it and being safe in the process. Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully get to ride together someday. Take care, D.

Thank you for telling your friends about my channel as well. I love the support. Yeah, the freeway cycling takes a certain mind frame and only for so long. I like it but it also intimidates me somewhat. Thank you, sir

@@FlyscoutRyder Diego, I have a question about your saddle. I ride a recumbent trike, and keep thinking about 2 wheels again only because the trike isn’t practical everywhere. It looks like you have a Brooks saddle? Have you gone through a bunch before arriving at this saddle? Are they really comfortable? Just wondering. I was biking the Katy trail across MO and had to cut it short to head home for the hurricane last week. Missed us in Bradenton but made the call call to go home when it was tracking over the house. Life in FL huh? Be safe out there and enjoy your trip. Good to hear where you are. I guessed you were headed to South America since it was so late in the year.

Diego, I just finished both series of your cross country documentaries. I watched them as I rebuilt my bike and got it all set up for a five hundred mile tour all the way across the state of Maryland. I am leaving Ocean City tomorrow morning and am hoping all goes well. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed your videos, and your enthusiasm just makes me want to get out there even more. Thank you for doing such a great job, not only in the filming and documenting, which is fabulous, but mostly for your positive attitude. I can't wait for your next series!

Hi Pete. That is so cool you are rebuilding your bike. I find that so important to do. Makes it so much easier when mechanical issues come about on the road. I haven't cycled thru Maryland but it sure is on the list. I wish you a blast of a time out on the two wheels. Let me know how it goes. Thank you for your kind words and for having watched both seasons. Be safe out there.
@Pete1031702 жыл бұрын
@@FlyscoutRyder , just thought I'd check back in and report on my ride. Maryland is a beautiful state with very diverse geography. The Eastern Shore, where I live is as flat as a place can be, pretty much a big sand bar. The middle section is rolling hills, then the western part is mountains... the same mountains you rode in Pennsylvania. As for the ride, I did 466 miles in seven days. Ocean City, Md. to Oakland, Md. I stayed in Maryland the whole time, though it would have been easier if I went through Delaware and Pennsylvania. I just wanted to say I rode Maryland end to end. One of the main challenges in doing this is getting across the Chesapeake Bay or the Susquehanna River. I crossed the Susquehanna early on a Sunday morning on Route 40. There is a button you press when you get on the bridge that makes a light flash to let the cars know there is a cyclist on the bridge. It flashes for fifteen minutes, I crossed it in six! Though I have ridden my whole life, I have never gotten saddle sores until now ( different bike and different pressure points), which made for some challenges to work through and a lot of things to figure out so my ride wasn't shut down. Boy, are they painful!!! The climbs in Western Md. were brutal, but I made it over all of them. I thought a lot of the joy you experienced when you had conquered some of those difficult climbs on your videos and it definitely helped me to keep climbing. I also thought a lot about you saying "more touring, less cycling" in one of your videos which helped me pace myself and and take more of the beauty in as I rode along. I am really looking forward to your upcoming videos, thanks for making such great content!

Great comment , Michael. Yeah, it surprises me as well how the terrain changes so often while I'm bicycle touring. This happens organically and I think its because of the diversity of routes that cycling allows. One minute I'm on a highway and the next on a busy street in a neighborhood and then Im all alone in a bike path. On the same day. It's one of those things that captivate me about bicycle touring. Thank you for watching and reaching out. Season 3 is happening. Im touring now and gathering the content to share the stories. Most likely will start uploading by late December. Take care

What an amazing journey, Diego - and inspiration to use to bike pack/tour - thanks for including us in your travels - I am very honored you shared it as much as you did. We all know how hard a one man production video crew can get especially on the days that are long and hard on the saddle - - kudos!! I watched both series 1 and 2 in the last one week and can say I haven’t seen anything quite well documented on KZbin- it helped me recover from my illness as I watched. Could I ask what shoes you wear - all through? - waiting to see the next trip - kudos Diego !!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

It was a fun time during those four months and i'm now back at it after two weeks from the PNW heading towards San Fran and then east towards CO and then TX to finish. It's been great and Im gathering season 3 content that won't disappoint. I should be home by late December and start editing it then. The difficulty of a one man production is a true statement. It mostly just takes so much time when its all on you but it also is equally rewarding to have completed a project like season 2. As long as I can keep floating it and enjoying the whole thing I will keep at it. You saying that I stack up to other vids out there is very kind, thank you. You did not mention what illness you are dealing with but if you use the word recovery it must mean that you are doing just that. I hope you will recover fully soon, man. Sorry you are dealing with it. I wear clip on Shimano MTS shoes that are four years old, boy are they tough. I actually have a new pair at home in a shipping box ready to have sent to me if these wear out but Im not sure it will happen. Take care and keep in touch.

As one who is still working on starting my first bikepacking/touring (1 -3 night trip) trip your adventures are a huge inspiration. I will check out the Shimano MTSs. Finally, I have to add -- Your attitude towards aspects of your trip are just so positive, man! - no matter what the hurdle - like the pack of vicious dogs that just wanted to " say hi" - or laughing (out loud) when climbing very steep hills ... what a cool way to live. Not much seems to faze you. Your destination to san DIEGO - seems to quite apt. Cant wait to see the new series - Safe travels 🙂 and thank you!
