Hey gamers. I think that diddy and game and watch have a very synergzining MU spread and im trying to learn him very late to the game. Big love for such a new guide to help me. Any diddy mains with further advice would be lovely especially in terms of MUs. I chose diddy because hes supposed to destroy the swordies i struggle with as GNW. I used to play joker but i cant keep up anymore as him against local pythras and clouds. Thank you all so much. Also i find snake a lot of fun but idk if i should have THREE mains for tournaments...

I remember replying specifically on the matchup chart on your Twitter about how weird Diddy is with his spread. As the meta has continued to develop, it seems to just get weirder every time. One thing I definitely do agree with you on, though, is that Steve being as bad as it is makes Diddy barely not solo viable. We've seen Diddy players come close and even beat some bad matchups. Tweek took Tea to game 5 at Mainstage 2021, beat Sonix twice at LMBM24, beat Shuton at PP7, took Sisqui to game 5 at SF10, so clearly most of these matchups, while definitely incredibly hard, are still possible, especially with all the examples except Samus being less common characters. However, Steve being as common as he is really just bites Diddy in the ass. There was a time when it didn't look so gloomy when Tweek found out about barrel busting on the walls, but then Acola just started building a second wall right after and it seems almost unbeatable. I know Tweek has a big issue against Steve, so I'll even give an example from another Diddy. Aaron was the first person to win an online major with Steve when he first came out and did really well with Steve until he was banned online, so safe to say he knows a lot about the Steve matchup considering his experience. Then he faced Ddee at Momocon, and keep in mind that Georgia has only a select few Diddy players, most notably, Player 1. So, you'd think Aaron would do fairly well despite the bad matchup, probably take it to game 5, at least game 4. Nope. Ddee just stomped. He went insane at Momocon as a whole, but that set goes to show, even if you know the matchup really well, it's still incredibly difficult.
