i remember playing final fanasy 9 for the first time, and the battle between bahamut and alexander was, at the time, the greatest spectacle i've ever seen in a videogame. and now, many years later, i'm seeing this and giving me that same level of amazement. FF16 feels (and looks) a lot like FF9.

Ff9 was my favourite behind 7 all because 7 was the first one I played in the series. 6,8,10 and 15 are still peak tho dissidia was a good idea too putting them all together without Donald, goofy and the giant back door key 🔑

@@adamstokoe1 from a gameplay perspective, FF9 was my favourite too. FF7 was really flawed because it marked the "new era" for the FF franchise and they were experimenting with the gameplay and system. FF9 on the other hand, pretty much perfected the classic formula and the class-based system. the only change i'd do with it is make the ATB maybe at least 25% faster, but other than that, it's essentially a polished version of the FF6 system.

NOT that I'm ignoring the performance issues, but if something of this magnitude can break a PS5, that's impressive. It's like good old Crysis when the game would break computers.

Not to mention that more recent C chassis model has a cooler that is about 1/3 of the size of the chunky original chassis A model + genial idea to release the game on summer.

Final Fantasy really do know how to make an epic battle and amazing fantasy, but the announcement of this slain that slain is really annoying though, it ruin the moments. I hope one day final fantasy will have protagonist with the host of Bahamut. Man I love Bahamut than other monsters/gods/eikons, bahamut is a total badass and only loosing because of 2v1. Bahamut might be capable to beat all other eikon if it was one on one

The first fight represents everything wrong with this game. The fight was needless...those were traitors he was killing. Clive thinks this low of Eikons. He thinks their protecting god would simply burn them without cause, even though an assassination force is proof of betrayal from the inside. And don't come to me with emotions, he did not know his father was dead by this point. As far as he knew, he turned to protect his father from doom. The Empire taking over Joshua's kingdom, essentially reuniting all monarchic structures in one target to be taken down by the Republic, evidences an attempt at an agenda. A monarchy is outdated, I recognize that, but without a homeland, the message becomes merely "burn everything to the ground". Rosalia fell. It became a faceless enemy we need to destroy along with the rest of the Empire. No change to improve its political system was promoted. Only its destruction. Its destruction and its people. Joshua and Clive don't even rebuild their homeland. It's disgraceful. But I would be unfair if I said that it wasn't smart, the way it was presented. But they won't have me fooled. At the very least, I'll seek fanfiction to actually enjoy this story without being fed this agenda.

It would've been great to see Fire vs Ice, but she's generally the smallest and weakest eikon and won'tput up much of a fight for Ifrit in comparison to the scales of Titan and Bahamut. At least we got some Epic scenes with her fighting Titan at the start and then providing support in later fights.
