I read the ending and people said Clive was alive, after watching it by myself its so clear that he died for good. Jill just smiles because of what he left after dying that is a free world and the sunset represents that.

No that's sunrise. Aka dawn which Jill in game describes as Clive always coming back to her. Clive had no injuries besides stone arm, same as Cid and he was fine as long as he stopped using magic.

He is alive. Just fainted due to too much of his power leaving him with a petrified hand and in the same state as Cid. His fate is hinted in the Moongazing lyrics - an official song for the game. Summarized - Metia granted Jill her wish of Clive reuniting with her. And in the post credits scene, the children are hinted to be his descendants.

After the grave disappointment of FFXV I must say this BEAUTIFULLY CHOREOGRAPHED END BATTLE where we fight Sephiroth's Mom, Jeno - I mean his dad, Ultima. All jest side, this game has brought Final Fantasy on the main seller chart again. You can see each character crafted with care and love unlike Noctis and his gang, who definitely feel like a rush job from development hell, THIS game is a MASTERPIECE, they brought all the pieces TOGETHER! I don't think Clive died tbh. The symbolism behind the dawn always returning is associated with Jill knowing he'll always come back to her and he doesn't have any injuries on his body aside from a stone hand that doesn't even spread across his body.

The last scene is Jill looking out at the ocean with the sun rising in the distance. It's pretty telling imo. If Clive were meant to be dead they wouldn't have just had his arm turn to stone it would've disintegrated his whole body.

For people who are confused about the fate of Clive, If you remember the final scene between Clive and Jill at the flower field, Jill says, "I realized that no matter how terrible the night... dawn would always come. That you would always come for me. And you have. Again and again". This scene along with the praying to Metia, you can analyze that Clive eventually safely returned to Jill. Yoshi P just doesn't put stuff in the game for no reason. Everything is there for a reason as he has said.

All these people theorizing about what happened to Clive lol. Lets be real, Squeenix has a long history of leaving loose ends in the mainline FF entries especifically for people to make their own headcanon. They rarely like to commit with one ending and why do so when you can keep people breaking their heads theorizing about the game for months or years until a DLC or movie comes out 😂 I still remember back when I played 7 a million years ago and how obtuse and non conclusive the ending was and how people theorized for almost a decade until Advent Children came out.
