This game might as well be my game of the year with how polished it is and for anyone new coming into this franchise, this is a great starting point. Thanks for watching!

final fantasy 15 sold over 9 million copies , So they cried about sales and money kilning the game going back on their word for content and mods , final fantasy 16 is not going to sell much more so how can we trust them? The active time lore is a game changer. I read a lot of fantasy. Exposition and world building are always a problem because there is always a sacrifice between keeping the reader informed and the pacing of plot. This beautifully solves that problem. It elevates the medium of video games above the novel and film as potentially the best way to consume fantasy. simple yet brilliant and innovative design.

The side quest are good for building the world and it’s people. The ones in the hideout are mainly so you can feel connected to the people you are trying save/help.

I’ve done all the side quests and can absolutely say they do get a lot better later in the game. A lot of them are filler, sure, but some of them are multi-mission quest lines that have a big payoff at the end. Even having their own proper cinematics. I highly recommend you don’t skip out on these. Plus there’s the extra XP and it’ll pad out the runtime of the game if nothing else. Trust me, once you start playing you are not gonna want that main campaign to end.

Aparrently the good side quest come later in the game as you meet people and you revisit them to see what their up to and to close off some story line, so don't ignore the side quests after you beat the MSQ. Also apparently people's PS5s are turning off because people haven't cleaned it and they are over heating, which is why it's only some people's ps5s that are shutting down.

There are legitimately good sidequests though. How about the one where you have to retrieve a rich girl's "pet".. only for it to be revealed to be a slave that died and Clive has to give the girl a lesson on morality and the value of life. Or when its revealed how dreadfully evil people are towards the branded by making them fight for their life against wolves for sport. I dont know, goes a long way from just giving out plates on a kitchen, so I would say it does get better.

I will say the sidequests get much better as you play the game and there’s so much lore that is revealed through them. For example unlocking the chocobo or revealing the reason for why the branded mark can’t simply be removed. This is a phenomenal game.

I am a fan of the older turn based titles, but my problem with the recent mainline titles is not that they weren't turn based, it's that they tried to make some weird hybrid of the old menu oriented combat and action RPG which turned out really bad. I'm glad to see they fully committed to the action RPG this time.

Just now finished the game, still have the end game quests to do which some I have done are freaking amazing. Story was fantastic, combat got insane the more eikons you unlock and realise all the combo potential. Characters and VA was incredible, music was epic! I have nothing else to say. Finally a full complete game beginning to end with no bugs! 10/10 masterpiece of an experience for me. My current GoTY for sure!

The fact that the Final Fantasy series isn't turn-based anymore is the only reason I've gotten more interested in it. No matter what, I just can't get into turn-based combat, so the real-time combat direction that FF games have gone in has made me actually check out a few of the recent games. The demo for the game was good, so I'll consider getting it.

The side quests remind me of the side quests in FF14. I love the game but I have a lot of issues doing the side quests bc they're so boring and tedious. Sometimes they ever bleed into MSQ and you have Tataru asking you to help her cook and stuff. I can understand why on an MMO you'd have these types of quests but I wasn't expecting that in a game like this.

I disagree slightly, while some quest are really go do this and go do that, some of them I really like and actually blend to the world, like quest where this noble man and his son use wolf to kill bearers or the one with the child where you have to find her “Chloe” or the one where you get Ambrosia back. This truly does feel like Final Fantasy reinventing itself from the demo alone. I really love the aesthetic and the fact they went a dark fantasy route with this one. They really refined the new real time combat mechanics and this is the best it's ever felt. Don't know if it will be my game of the year, but it's probably one of the best AAA titles to drop in a while.

the person who worked on DMC5 combat (the person who beat the boss on stage) is the lead combat designer for FF16 and there are also helps from Platinum devs and Kingdom Hearts devs. So Hack n' Slash and not Soulslike.

Ff13 was turn based it used the modern ATB system even Lighting returns from like 2013 is a blend of turned based and the active style of combat.

Everyone hates the battle system for FF13 for some reason, I think those folks just never put in more that a couple of hours. The battle system became a lot more fun the further you got in the game.

@@IlIiliIliIl again the emphisis isn't on the attacks what you do its what you use and the classes this is why any remotely good composition of paradigms use all of them and why having something like cerebreus (3 commandos) suck so does Tri diaster( 3 ravagers). I will say they fumbled the execution horribly, if they were to bring more attention and create more specialized classes and such it would be way better. This isn't the conventional jrpg where what you are doing matters

I'm getting a PS5 this Friday when I get my bonus check just for this game, I'm so damn excited! As for someone who played Final Fantasy 14 for over 1400 hours, I already know Yoshi P will NOT disappoint with the story. On top of that, I really enjoyed Devil May Cry 5, I grew up on DMC as well anyways, so I'm not salty about them going full on action with the combat. I'm also very excited for FF7 Rebirth and seeing what the future of this crazy JRPG series has in store...

I was going to say this too! The side quests are kind of what you expect at the beginning but as the story opens up and more characters are introduced the new side quests tell some awesome stories and really expand on the characters and world!

A mainline single player Final Fantasy hasn't been pure turn based since 2001 with Final Fantasy X. Glad you're enjoying it and I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I've been a FF player since 1994 starting with FF6.

The sidequests is honestly where the FF14 influence really shows. Besides well-known quests like Hildebrand, most side quests in FF14 are sleeping pill levels of boring.

As a person who loved the final fantasy 13 series it might be a hallway, but the characters felt so good and real. Also you gotta admit lightning return walked so ff 15, 7 remake, and 16 could run.
