Been getting a lot of reports of Hud Fix turning off their FG so I tested it on multiple builds and this seems to be true. These are my findings: After setting my fps cap to 30 and turning on FG seeing my fps jump to 60 and then enabling Hud Fix, the frames go back down to 30 but the FPS counter stays at 60. So this is def an issue with Optiscaler and Hud fix either turning off FG or just using resources and making it less smooth because it's trying to fix the hud smear. My guess is I didn't notice this since I had my cap at 120fps prior and when it swapped off the frames were so similar that my eyes didn't catch it. This will have to be fixed by Optiscaler devs or I'll have to find another workaround. Sorry everyone, I'll have to figure out how to fix the hud, only way to have that smoothness is to disabling hud fix for now :/.

I just decreased the number, then increased to 3 again n seemed to fix that issue. My issue rn is want to cap at 60 and I capped it in nvidia and in game but still says it's going over

really insane the FPS jump, using an rtx 3070 jump from 70 - 100 ish fps in grassland name I think all the way up to 140 plus fps, no issues at all adding this mod, still I only played a bit and I saw if you move to fast the camera around the fps dips to double digits, still I think is freaking awesome!, thank you so much for the easy steps to follow.

Some issues people are having is that if they have an overlay such as MSI Afterburner on or similar, this is crashing their game. Disabling this stops the crashes. Another trend I'm seeing is that people that have 3000 series cards are getting issues such as worse performance etc. This just may be a hardware issue and nothing that can be fixed until new versions of Optiscaler are released. There is a nightly build that allows steam overlay to run but it can be a little unstable. I managed to get it stable for my system, might make a video showing how to get this version to run. If you're having issues, you can comment in the video but please give me more info such as your "GPU specs/CPU specs/RAM/in-game settings/resolution" so we can start from the top and try to figure out what might be the issue, thanks :D!

the FG doesn't work since the UI fix limits it. Try turning it off and it "feels" the same. The numbers aren't showing the cut out FG because of the fix. Use Lossless Scaling instead, doesn't mess with the UI and gives legit FG gain. I use optiscaler for the dlss4 + sharpening, then Lossless scaling for the FG.

@@Strifelol I think you’ll really see it if you cap the game fps to 30 to check, that’s how I noticed it wasn’t working when I played it on steam deck. Try it with and without UI fix to see the difference. But yeah the workaround is using Lossless Scaling, it’s worth the $7 :)

the only issue i had with this mod, the game crashes when using msi afterburner. and the nvidia overlay does not keep track of the fps

Yeah, that's an issue with this version of OptiScaler. You would need to install the nightly version to be able to get the Nvidia overlay to work :).

Go to the in game settings, go down until you see “Anti-Aliasing Method” and choose “DLSS” Then you should be good bro 👍.

HUDfix got a bug where it turns the FG off.. you will see FPS draw doubled but in reality it's just the base FPS.

@@neverwinter1224 no , i vé re instal the game and tweak a little graphic parameter I play in FHD 1080 90 fps 66% and 66% both max and min Dynamic resolution And low for fog quality It's run well for me Wait and see with drivers update from NVIDIA and maybe a patch from square enix Good luck and good game !

Have you tried to get losless scaling to work in this game? I've tried and it does work, but eventually it locks up leaving a static image on the screen and requires a pc restart. I don't know if i'm just using the wrong settings in it or maybe running out of vram. I can get it to do 120 at 1440p and absolutely working but can't seem to stop it from eventually freezing.

I am using lossless for the FG portion of it. I still use OptiScaler for the sharpening and other tools. I don't have any issues with lossless locking up on me though and I'm running on 4k @60fps cap on the in-game settings but it's outputting 120fps.

@@johnreyeslao7378 If you open up the Frame Generation menu and click on save ini at the bottom, your settings will save and you wont have to redo the settings every time you log in. You will have to set the limit count from 3 to 2 and then back to 3 if your frames are scuffed when you first open the game. What GPU/CPU are you running by chance?

@@johnreyeslao7378 Thank you! Yeah, this will still most likely not get you crazy frames on the handheld. I think people that will benefit the most are people with 4000 series cards and above, while it will work for 30 series, I've heard a lot of people reporting issues with 30 series cards.

Once you're in the game, go into your graphics settings and scroll down till you see Anti-Aliasing Method and then select DLSS, by default it might be set to TAA. Let me know if this helps your crashing!

FF7 has only dlss support. But with optiscaler you can change it to fsr

So the menu shows 1440p because that's the resolution it will set itself to If I were to switch to windowed mode. When in borderless full screen, the game goes based off your native resolution for your monitor which is my 4k display ASUS PG32UCDM. Yeah I do get some input delay but I don't really notice it a whole lot, my combos are still smooth and I can animation cancel with no issues. I think a lot of the issues people are having are that they are using cards lower than a 4000 series and while 3000 series work, a lot of the issues are coming from people with lower end hardware unfortunately. :(

7800x3d/4080/4k here. FG works, but HUD Fix doesn't, on whatever value. Would it be because I'm using DLSS 4?

Instead of increasing limit count (leave at 1), enabling FG immediate capture or FG extended or even FG allow Async may fix this. Try enabling one at a time and see if any work for you.

When downloading Optiscaler, it should have all the files you need. You just need to copy the dlss file from your DLSS folder. When you unzipped the Optiscaler files, what files did it have?

By default windows hides file extensions, which is really problematic when modding. Just google how to unhide windows 11 file extensions.

@Strifelol Ryzen 7 5800hs, 16gig ram, rtx 3050 mobile, high textures high character model high ocean detail, low everything else 1920x1080 pretty sure gpu is only 4gig vram but could be 6

@@jasoonplayslegends7508 This sounds like this is a hardware issue. A lot of issues I'm hearing about this method are from 3000 series cards and below and especially on a laptop. I don't think there's a fix for this atm :(.

@@lacri255 I figured it out. Turned off overlays from afterburner, steam, nvidia. Set a fps cap to 120 , vsync-on on nvidia control panel, vrr on in game, everything maxed out. That one fixed the stutters for me.

You need to disable any overlay programs such as msi afterburner or nivida overlay etc this should fix your issue. The only problem right now is that enabling hud fix is causing issues with frame generation either shutting off completely or causing some fps drops.

The game runs on your native resolution when you're not in windowed mode. That's why it's greyed out when you see the resolution in the graphics setting.

It only works with the HUD fix off. When you enable it it just duplicates frames.
