Final Fantasy VIII (ファイナルファンタジーVIII, Fainaru Fantajī Eito) is a 1999 role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix).
It is a time of war. Galbadia, a Global Superpower, has declared war on Dollet, a country whose training academy is home to two personalities: the hot-headed Seifer and the 'lone wolf', Squall Leonhart. Both are equally at conflict with each other as their country is with Galbadia; to others, Squall appears lacking in team spirit, while Seifer lacks the discipline of his rival. I remember the night my brother got this and watching the opening sequence. The CG was insane, I'd never seen anything like it from a game, not even ff7, and even twenty years later it still looks flawless. I've played this game through about 7 times over the years, along with Tactics, i like it better than 7. The story is entertaining, the swapping between time-lines at several different stages drags down the pace a bit, but still a great game. Probably my favorite.

My main issue was with how cool the magic system was for linking but then made you never want to use magic due to losing your power from linked spells cards. Kind of like a fluid materia system that limited you. So cool ideas but could be refined better.

I forgot how much cool stuff they put into FF8, like absolutely loved everything about this game, but also MOTORCYCLE ATTACK BRIGADE, SPACESHIPS SHAPED LIKE DRAGONS, MECHA SPIDERS, ACTUAL FIGHTSCENES WITH SWORD AND MAGIC. Like damn, so cool.

We watched it without playing the Game before and this is what we understood from this movie: Space robots invade the earth, multitrack railroad drifting but Initial D music is missing, evil parrot queen has her kingdom and is wearing metal implants to counter heavy weight of that thingy on her back. She shows off her fancy big car while some dudes try to dance after it in a Hip-Hop way but then suddenly her car gets locked somewhere and she has to make a new one in a factory. The oil she needed for it she got from the drilling plant which exploded where the green lights obviously showed that something good is about to happen. During a swordfight some random dude decided to take a bike for a ride and he died. Twice. Main guy respawns four times in very bad places outside of the map and apparentelly you only see his ship crew in the beginning. Suddenly we switch to a space scene where they probably pewpew the moon and the main girl went up there to stargaze. There is also lizard invasion going on. Coke company wanted to paint the moon red but lizards defended it. Main Guy is stranded on a meteor which looked like big desert and after catching a drug fever he goes crazy. He is ded but not getting revived by the main girl so instead of respawning he makes a new character and boosted it to 80 because his respawns are fucked up due to him dying all the time. Coke company failed because lizards were too strong so it turns back white again. Epic spaceship stalking till credits.

I really like the comms tower powering up @5:38 and onwards. Great choice of music there, plus the machinery is cool! If I ever get to design machinery I'm using this as inspiration and going for cool, moving parts everywhere designs over practicality.

I'd always thought the Disc 4 is the shortest because of the length of ending cinematics. Now I noticed they are distributed to the discs roughly as 17, 10 , 10 and 15 minutes. Disc 1 has the longest runtime. It could be due to limited possiblity of traveling the world in beginning. Yet you also cannot enter most of the places in Disc 4 anyway. That's strange.

700 MB per disc. One 10 min video sequence with 240p as original have (240p its per one minute 2.70 MB) so the 10 min video can have perhaps 27 MB.

No problem, I was searching for them myself and couldn't find a decent resolution version. A cutscene is the parts in a game where the developer fills in the gaps of the story through a video sequence. There is no gameplay during the cutscene. Hope that helps!

My biggest question during the Sorceress assassination, is how in the world did Irvine even have an angle for the shot, after he takes the shot it shows the Sorceress looking in the direction of the bullet. Then when Squall drives the car into the fence and sneaks through the angle of the float shifts so that the back is pointed towards where Irvine took the shot. If they ever Remade FF8 the way they did FF7, hope they look at there cutscenes a little better
