He believed he was the son of Jenova, and that she was a Cetra that the humans killed to achieve her power, when she was actually the malicious alien who wiped out the Cetra in the first place. @@germanofzelda9109 Sephiroths plan was to cause immense damage to the planet with the Meteor and then absorb the entire life stream into himself when it came to defend against the meteor becoming a literal god. Only reason his plan failed was because Cloud and his team came to stop him before the meteor arrived. Sephiroth never planned to die heck he explains his new plan in Advent Children and when he gets defeated there he decides to mess with the threads of fate( in the Remakes timeline manipulation) to make it so he doesnt die to Cloud and his friends. Sephiroth is many things but he is not suicidal he is completely insane and believes his own lies.

Sephiroth was not always the madman we know. He was a caring man that inspired those around him. He was a man surrounded by comrades he'd gladly call friends. He was praised as a hero. But then one of his comrades rebelled. That was the start of a series of unfortunate events that spelled Sephiroth's descent. In Crisis Core, we see Sephiroth turn into something worse than a man, and we can't help but cry for him.

For the finale of the remakes i want sephiroth to no longer seem calm and collected. I want him to genuinely lose his shit, to be mad and furious that Cloud and gang have defied him time and time again. That would make his last stance seem all the more impactful. Sephiroth has died 3 times in canon timeline by now but due to his godlike will he never submits to the life stream and instead just lingers there and uses it to his own gains until he finds a way to come back again. The endgame of Compilation of Final Fantasy VII disappointed me greatly until I read an interesting line in the ultimania omega. Sephiroth won, apparently. `Defeating` him in Advent Children didn't do shit. He remains in the lifestream, festering in the planet's blood like the disease that he is. Geostigma had already claimed many lives by the time of AC, so the damage was already done. That and evidently, Sephiroth has evolved into a true god by that universe's standards. They beat his avatar.

Raul Rojas Nope. Sephiroth solos the both of them. Dante and Vergil move at Hypersonic+ speeds, whereas Sephiroth is Massively Hypersonic+. Also Dante and Vergil are only at least Multi-City Block level in destruction, being generous. Sephiroth is a planet buster, so Sephiroth utterly takes the cake on this one. Much better swordsman than Dante or Vergil, well Dante yes, but Vergil and Sephiroth swordsman wise, I couldn't really say; they are both fantastic swordsmen. However, SMT Dante could very well have a good chance against Sephiroth. I'm not sure but I heard SMT Dante was FTL in speed, but I'm not positive. But the canon Dante and Vergil lose-- And I'd much rather they win, but stat wise it just doesn't add up in their favor, sadly.

Just to clear this up, they did mention that it's a possibility. The speculation is that Shinra, an al-bhed wunderkind found the "lifestream" of spira during Yuna's escapades in X-2 and went on an invested venture thanks to Rin. As he said, it would take ten's of thousands of years to perfect the technology. So really, even if it were in the same universe, it still only relies on one single thread. And all Final Fantasy universes are connected in a sense, they all use similar magic and summons.
