Final Fantasy IV (PC) - Final Boss: Zeromus (Active/Hard) + Ending

The final boss in the game.
This guy got massive buffs and now his Meteor and Big Bang attack deal incredible damage. Make sure to keep Shell and Haste and reapply them when he casts Black Hole on your party and if he's spamming that Osmose spell too much, just use your Ethers, Dry Ethers, Elixirs or even Megalixirs, since they won't carry over to the NG+.
After that, we watch the ending and the credits. The music ended a bit too soon, so I added the Prelude near the end. It's such a beautiful song...

So playing the game as a young child, I never even made it to the moon. Tonight I defeated Zeromus on PC on hard. This game was every bit of challenging as I remember. The story still sent shivers down my spine. But I had no idea how amazing this ending was. I had no idea you travelled to the moon. If I made it to the end as a young child, this would likely have been the best game I've ever played. Damn, that boss fight had my heart racing! And I'm in my twenties! I can beat any PS4 game in less than 10 hours, but this took about 50 and BLEW MY MIND. What an amazing game and an amazing story. Playing it in 3d on my PC was........ok I could go on forever

Great, now beat proto babil with using no rare items. Every attack is a 1 hit kill except for laser barrage. I tried so hard on proto babil without using any tails but I need to farm them now. ( I have sword,shield and helmet)

Dragon Heart1209 It's actually the Nintendo DS version. I was aware that one was eventually ported to iOS, but I didn't know they released it on PC too. Doesn't seem like something you'd play on a PC since it looks kinda crappy on a big screen, but then again it's still heaps more advanced than the original on SNES.

This was with "a budget." You need to remember that this game was made for the original Nintendo DS, a handheld console made in 2004. And this is a 2007 game made for that hardware. This game is one of the most impressive cutting-edge games for the Nintendo DS. I do agree that it would be cool to get another remake with modern graphics though.

This is the best that the Nintendo DS can put out because it's weaker the PlayStation which was released in 1994. Sure, Resident Evil 4 on GameCube looked outstanding for 2004, but it was for the GameCube, the second most powerful home console at the time. This game looked far worse for a 2007 game, but it was for the DS, the weaker of the two handhelds at the time, but considering the limitations it looked amazing.

As for my strategy on hard, it was similar to this. Average party level was around 70 though. I started with defending, then had Rosa cast shell and haste on Rydia while Edge used Spider Silk. I kept Kain in the air. It was rather simple. I kept Cecil attacking, and Edge was on item duty (ethers, phoenix down if Rosa was preoccupied). Everyone survived every big bang, because of shell, and Kain was in the air. I kept Rosa replenishing health and shell. Rydia summoned Bahamut and dealt almost 9999 damage every time. Then he cast meteor, took out everyone except Rosa and Cecil (the Protect rings saved my life). I had Rosa dualcast Raise, and Cecil PD'd Kain. After Edge used Megaelixir on the party, I had Rosa dualcast Cura (or curaga, can't remember) and then Holy. Rydia summoned Bahamut, Kain jumped, Cecil attacked, and then Rosa cast Holy again, THEN THE WONDERFUL WHITE FLASHES AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

The music and graphics were better on the SNES than this version. By the time they tried to make this one 3D, they should have been able to make the characters similar to the PS1. And on the PC, getting a crappy port of the DS? It's just sad what they did to one of the most iconic games of my childhood. I don't want Cecil et. al to look like Lego/Roblox figures. Even a FFIX style would have been far better.

In retrospect this game essentially being Final Fantasy x Star Wars, has only made me enjoy it more over time also despite the dated DS era graphics FF4 3D Bahamut is up there with the likes of Anima, Eden and KotRT with one of the most epic summon attacks in the franchise imo, I mean he straight up manipulates the entire solar system as a side effect just before unleashing Megaflare.

Zeromus is disappointingly easy to put down. Like... I'm kind of disappointed in Zeromus. Him having 150,000 hp doesn't make him hard, it just makes it longer that you can listen to the awesomeness that is the music while fighting him.

This is my favorite game, if you liked it you should probably know the best version of it is Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. It's worth getting a PSP for... It's beautiful and is the only way to get the sequel to see what happens past this, and it lets you play all the characters at the end of the game, so if you ever wanted to take Edward to meet Zeromus, well, you can... Real number, the game can handle 5-digit numbers just fine. It just initially caps at 9999 since that was the original version's cap. Limit Breaker augment raises the cap to 99999

This is the version I've been always trying to find. Thought it was on the GameCube. So this 3D version is on the PC? How did you obtain it? Is it still available? The Zeromus on GameBoy Advance was really tough too though did more damage when I cast Shell for some reason. I'd usually have one dead by the end of the battle but sometimes either lost or had all alive. DualCast wasn't available on that game and Zeromus didn't counter with Osmose.

I defeated this guy the very first time I played on Hard/Active on my very first playthrough on this game on mobile, I used no Augments to help me (I have Counter for Cecil, but Zeromus doesn't do physical attacks so that doesn't count), I watched DeltaShinyZeta's video and figure out that Defend actually lessens damage taken, so I took the liberty of putting my auto-abilities on Defend to all my characters except Kain because he can completely avoid it and so used Jump for Kain, after stealing the Dark Matter from Zeromus, I made Edge throw Fuma Shurikens to damage Zeromus, I have Rydia summon Bahamut even if he will counter using Osmose, in the process of Big Bang when Rosa is defending, I had her immediately cast Curaja. Worst part is in the later parts of the battle when he uses Meteor, even with Shell on all of my characters, they still die leaving only Cecil and Rosa in the battle, I'd have to Phoenix Down 2 of my guys and wait for Rosa's turn to cast Curaja and use another Phoenix Down to revive the last person, Meteor is so fucking unpredictable, luckily enough, it is all scripted and after he uses Meteor, I can use the remainder of time revive and fully heal my characters and before he loops his Meteor-Whirl-Osmose move script, I'd have all my characters on Defend duty until he does Meteor, Kain will use Jump and completely avoid it. I have all my characters to level 70+ being that Kain is the lowest level at 74 and others highest at 77. It was nigh impossible to beat Zeromus even with level 75+ characters, but I did it.
