Very good! Very nice and clear. Would love to hear some more rubato though, the tempo is veeerryyy strict. The song itself, because it's played in MIDI, is very strict in it's tempo. But you're doing a solo arrangement, so you're allowed a bit more liberty with your interpretation. It'd be awesome to see that liberty taken advantage of. Right now it feels like you're playing an arrangement (VERY WELL) very strict in tempo, note by note. Now that you have it down, trying to put in a bit more feeling would bring it to the next level. Adding subtle tempo variations that flow with the feeling of the sound, subtle pauses. Phrases that end with a cadence(dominant to tonic), but that also slow down just lightly to help give that feeling of resolution. Once you can play it to a metronome perfectly, it's time to toss it to the side. Here's a master of guitar, John williams. At 1:00 this link shows some examples. You'd be hard pressed to tap a strict tempo to this song. But his rhythm isn't bad in the slightest, he just flows in and out of the beat as the feeling of the sound dictates. Slows down and slightly speeds up the phrases for effect. Very subtle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJXVno2jh95-d68

Thank you for your awesome feedback! You are exactly right: the one BIG wall I am struggling to break through is being able to freely express my own emotions behind the music while performing. I struggle with performance anxiety and nervousness every single time I record these videos, and find that I get very stiff . Needless to say this limits my flexibility to really bring out what I feel in the music, rather than restate what is already written down. I'll try to do better in the coming pieces!

Well, just so you know you're doing great. I'd find it hard to get as clean of takes as you've been getting consistently. Plus, every week nonetheless. So mad props! As far as feeling goes, it can definitely be hard. One way that really helps me is to do a little singing when you practice. Find the melody, and sing it while you play. Since your voice is more natural, you should find it easier to put more feeling into it while you sing. Let your voice guide the rhythm/dynamic changes of the song. Then once you do that some you might find it easier to mimic it with just the guitar. The melody is important to sing, but I'd also maybe try singing the bass line a few times, or any lines or phrases in the middle. It should all help some!

Thank you! Good thing the other 58 NG takes are deleted thanks to the world of digits lol. And yes, BIG YES to the singing suggestion. You reminded me of the valuable teachings from our great masters. One of my heroes, Glenn Gould (a pianist), ALWAYS sang, even during his performances and recordings (sometimes even so loud the recording engineers had trouble lol). Why didn't I think of that? I guess I was too paranoid and focused on getting the notes right, and accurate, up until now. Much thanks again. Your feedback means so much to me!

I actually prefer the way that this is played with a relaxed, steady tempo. I have heard so many versions of this played with rubato and more "musical" style, but for me that takes away from the humble feeling of this piece (at least that is how I interpret it). And although none can say that Glenn Gould is not a fantastic pianist and musician, many purists would listen to his Bach recordings and find them to be interesting, yet not their favorite or true Bach.
