I've always loved this piece. Sometimes I put it on repeat when I need to stay calm or be introspective. There's something a little sad in its beauty, or maybe that's me remembering Vivi's story and feeling emotional. Absolutely gorgeous arrangement and performance on the harp here. If only Harpsibored plays deeply relaxing harp music existed when I was 11/12 hanging out with my PS2. Sunlight coming from that harp could have helped me grow patience instead of growing rage. A way to counteract the sun sigil and its collection. I remember not talking to God for a year after cursing him up day after day for my own failures. IF ONLY. Also maybe the knowledge of knowing that our friend oxygen could put out adrenaline and cortisol build up. That would help too. Even though I believe your true colors to be deep, dark, and grimmish. Something about you always slaying in white/light colors brings an overly proud smile to me. #BarbieSuperModelSNESapproved Way to get the job done on this song!

Idk if any kind of music can quell the rage inflicted by the Sun Sigil of FFX. Or...any of those damn minigames. And yes you are correct, white is not really my true color. When I saw myself in this dress I felt it looked like Fran Drescher's nanny character had a meltdown and decided to move to a distant farm to become a milkmaid. But it works for this video. @@Harpsibored By what you just oddly described, that’s an emotional collapse like no other. You have a great track record of doing it right, with only one major L that I know of. 50-1 by my count. I forgot about the lightning…it’s almost as if squaresoft hired developers who grew up on NES to come up with the mini-games for X. Of course this is all conjecture by me. That department then needed a slogan and an employee(still not healed from the NES damage done to them earlier in life), there said They Must Learn PAIN. Square loved it and ran with it. Thank you for doing this one. :) Your version is lovely: it's just a tad airier, slower, sadder, and calmer than the original, and I like this take on the theme, too. Haha, I also think the slightly ominous notes are a bit more prevalent, but not enough to make the song unsettling. That's all, I just wanted to express the vibe I got off your rendition, since I find stuff like that interesting in my own singing or playing. Idk if you find that interesting, though, so sorry if that was a snooze-fest!🤣

Yawn Jk jk, I enjoy hearing how people feel about my harp interpretation vs. the original. I very rarely play something as is, since I like to adjust things to suit the harp, if that makes sense. I often slow down tempos because it gives time for the harp to reverberate. The "ominous" bit that you hear is probably from the lower notes that I added, I'm guessing. I like adding those things in though to give the song depth. Anyway. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and offer your feedback! 💕

@@Harpsibored 🤣 Now that I think about it "ominous" is too strong of a word; "disquieting" is the word I meant. I hear it in the original song, too. The two notes in particular are in 0:26-0:28. To me, those notes hit a bit different than the idyllic feeling the rest of the song has; it's always been a bit of foreshadowing that things weren't quite as they seemed in Dali. Maybe it doesn't hit anyone else that way, but it does to me, lol. One thing that I love about your FF renditions is that I typically feel like you actually get the emotional vibe that the original was going for. There are a lot of covers of FF music on KZbin. Some are fantastic, and some are missing something. But when I hear your covers, it feels like an actual fan is playing, not just a hired musician.

Thanks! Actually, my harp skills are a result of a deal I made with the Deep Ones to engender the return of Cthulhu. I recruited men to mate with the undersea civilization to create the hybrid human-fish species to take over the world, and in return they furnished me with gold I could use to purchase my harp. All in all, a win-win.

This was one of the first music pieces I was learning on guitar. It has a great sound with nylon strings, though not as magical as this harp of yours! Great work on capturing the moment and atmosphere of the Dali village, I can almost hear chocobos :)

Niiiice. Such a great tune (one of the best, if not the best, from FFIX). Bran Bal and Terra tracks are also excellent, although they're moreso mysterious and imposing, while the Dali track is peaceful. It reminds me of sunny, sleepy, relaxed days. Maravilloso trabajo, muy emocional, bello y cargado de nostalgia! y para quienes jugamos FF9 le tenemos un especial cariño a este tema :D! (Te comparto una anécdota personal) Imagínate que me hiciste viajar a eso del 2003 o 2004 y estaba tan metido en esta historia que le fabriqué a mano una figura de madera con la forma de Vivi a mi padre como regalo en su día jajajaja (era una caja donde pudiera guardar cosas para que no se le perdieran que Vivi se las cuidaría xdd) obviamente me ayudó él mismo a hacerla porque eran herramientas complejas, pero no supo que era su regalo hasta que se lo entregué :x. Al final el regalo fue compartir unas semanas fabricando al personaje y la caja juntos
