I wish this was how the remake will look, it's so storybook-like. It captures the fun, whimsical art style of the original game but improves the visual clarity. I love everything about this project visually and Vivi's voice is PERFECT. I cannot thank the team that spent 3 years making this enough for giving us even just a little bit of magic to enjoy and appreciate.

Love the fact that they kept the cartoony vibe. Feels very much like a kids game. (Like the new Ratchet and Clank games but without the Constant dumb jokes) really appreciate this project. Feels so real. One thing which probably won't happen in a remake is that the text boxes will probably just be subtitles like FF7R. Which is fine.

@@makettaja Maybe cartoon isn't the best choice but it had a unique artstyle in the original. And they kept that for this project. They even kept the Chibi Models. Which was a design choice in the original.

it always depresses me that critics are always complainant about remakes that are 1 for 1 or close. i get the idea that newer and more modern young folks might want to experience older titles and freshening them up draws those folks in, but the spirit behind any calls FOR a remake are not driven by those folks, they're driven by fans of the series who played the originals at a time when game technology did not look as it does today, the games' bugs were irreparable in the cart/disc only era. i, personally and i know its my opinion, really look forward to this as i did to the super mario RPG, links' awakening, and metroid prime remakes simply because it keeps to the originals and i can finally see old games that i loved so much in my youth redone in the way you younger folks take for granted--with all the splendor of modern graphics and patching that can smooth out problems and make those older titles nearly perfect. there'll always bet he OG and i have a digital and disc copy, but man i can't wait to get this

@@webguy943there’s been no indication of an 8 remake, whereas there have been several for 9. animated series in production, remake listed in nvidia leak years ago which has been highly accurate so far (minus cancelled titles from selling off western studios), behind the scenes video at SE where they highlighted the FF9 character designer while drawing a FF9 art, with FF9 statues in the background, and just today a FF9 collab in the FF7 ever crisis mobile game

Just my opinion, but the high frame rate takes away any cinematic feel of it. Wish they kept it at 30fps max for the opening scene. Movies are at 24fps.

My absolute favourite ff as a kid, and still to this day. This tribute looks amazing too. For me, the original game will remain my favourite though. I prefer the colour and art direction more. Memoria one looks great, but too reddish or something, something about the colours are off for me. 😊

Unpopular opinion - I’m absolutely not trying to discredit the AMAZING work put into this. I think it’s incredible. I do wish it was a little less child like. (A little) for me, there’s some darker undertones going on throughout the general feel of the game. I’ll probably get some hate for this - again I really can’t compliment the work enough - especially as it’s a passion project. It’s just what I feel. Ff9 is my ALLTIME favourite game.

I also love ff9, the most influential game in my life but this remake truly feels like it's intended for kids. I really really don't like it and it definitely doesn't capture the feeling I had and have when I still play the original game.

Я бы купил.. предзаказ, все дела) Хотя и не во всем только положительные эмоции. Да, это не square, а фанаты (даже если и профессионалы своего дела), да это ремейк и его разработчики как никак привносят что то своё в продукт и много еще каких факторов - повторить, скорее всего, не получится. Но это, вероятно, и не требуется - полагаю, одной из задач была попытка передать былую атмосферу игры: дизайн/стиль, эпоху и настроения масс "нпс").. и если последнее выглядит хорошо: ценители итак помнят все эти сюжетные повороты и интриги, и наблюдать за всем этим шоу в обновленной картинке чистое удовольствие), то первое, на мой взгляд, не очень соответствует оригинальной идее. Как выразился, один из комментаторов ниже - "это мрачная игра" (уничтожение городов, интриги и предательства, смерть многих персонажей, изгнание и преследования и многое другое...) оттого такая чрезмерная мультяшность, и на мой взгляд, не очень вписывается в общую картину.. плюс ко всему, (причем плюс жирнейший) - это сюжет и философия игры, развитие и жизнь персонажей.. первая игра (пусть и для меня), где поднимаются по настоящему важные и единственно значимые темы в жизни.. прям пособие по жизни, как поступать во многих ситуациях. Не игра, а шедевр.

I highly doubt that any of Squares efforts to remake FF9 can come close to what was achieved with the Memoria Project. It's a love letter to the game that I don't think SE can match nowadays. FF9 although a beloved game does not have nearly as many fans as FF7

It doesn't even need to be realistic. I'd be totally fine with it being cartoony like DQ11. They're better off investing the file size for larger and better explorable area and game design and voice packs/sound design to make this world so alive instead of texture packs for "realism".

I usually really dislike fan remakes in unreal engine, it always looks so cheap, too many effects, while the base elements like animations or art direction, or 3d models, are terrible. But here, I'm kinda impressed honestly. It definitely can improve a bit, the style isn't quite there yet, I think the remake has a "bubbly" stylized look, while the original had "sharp" and "delicate" stylized look. I'm not an expert so I don't know the terms but this is the best I can describe it.

Incredible what a group of fans can achieve.. they kept things on the edge of aesthetics but there are two things I hated in the decision they made: the dialogue box is horrible... AND VIVI WOULDN'T HAVE TO SPEAK!! they ruined the magic for me... the rest is all excellent.
