When I hear that piece, here is how my mind interprets it: The battle is over. You survey the battlefield. There are bodies all around. You see movement, but not a lot. Most of the bodies are still. The fields are still green, but with patches of crimson. The hilly landscape. Blades of grass collect dew at their tips. You can feel a mist in the air. The sky is overcast, but some rays of light penetrate the clouds. It's raining lightly, but not a lot. A drop falls on your cheek, but you don't flinch. After a moment of reflection , you whisper to yourself, "I'm alive."

Brings me back, first time i played tactics i was so unprepared for Wiegraf that i ended up having to start whole new playthrough. I remember being so pissed off that day as a kid xD

Just out of curiosity what were your zodiac signs? Mine was absolute garbage against Wiegraf (Sagittarius) which let him do 112 with EVERY lightning stab. After the first playthrough I always stole Gafgarion's blood sword which helped a bit here but yeah this battle sucked for me, though Belial will always make me shit myself, that difficulty spike man xD

Wiegraf Folles was a hero in his own story who gave in to temptation. He took the quick and easy road and found himself fighting for a side that was waging a shadow war for its own ends, and by the time he realized that, it was too late.

Then the boss fight and lastly the roof top fight. One of the toughest brick wall in gaming I had ever faced.

And it lulls you in so well cuz that outdoor fight against Marach ain't even that bad. The three rooftop archers picking away at your units is annoying, but Knights are usually just fodder for my magic users and Agrias, and Marach can be counted on to walk within movement distance of Ramza, who can USUALLY just one-bang the bastard. But then you face Wiegraf, who has *SWORD ARTS* and HOOOO BOY it's fucking on, and even if you beat him you're then going up against Belias and his Titan/Cyclops spam.

@@plgrn8r683 fun fact, if Rapha goes down during that fight, Marach runs away. This means you can strip Rapha’s gear and then kill her on the first turn to essentially one-hit kill Marach. She still has her gear at the rooftop too, and when you recruit her.

My 2 top favorite would have to be the Enemy Theme or Night Attack, but personally all are great battle songs when executing a storyline battle

I was always a ninja when I fought Wiegraf. Hoped my speed and luck was would take him out before his dreaded lightening stab killed me. Squire with yell is actually the preferred method.

Monk with Attack Up and Earth Slash/Wave Fist is a good combo. A White Mage with Swiftness and Holy is also a deadly combo.

Good thing I had auto potion and the double sword support ability. and almost 100 brave to make sure I survive. I also spammed myself with yell and accumulate to destroy velius in 3 turns. I hated that fight.

+Mog of War I only gained about 2 or 3 levels. No big problem. Anyhow, those fights were big experience boosters for my team, so it worked out in the end.

S Manly Heh! First time I beat Velius I didn't use the trick. I DID use the Squire class so that I had both Item and Basic Skills in a combat class, and I used yell just enough to use my movement speed to keep away from Wiegraf during the duel. Used Accumulate enough to boost damage by a hundred or so, and double sworded my way through the fight from there. Then I learned about the trick, after beating the game. So next playthrough I up and did it, and gained 30 levels using yell and accumulate... but that was just to see the all the baddies get one-shotted by my main before anyone else acted. So I was real cheap and the game got me back for it... then again, I had enough thieves that my party was pretty much geared to top tier by the first major battle... but it was only after cheesing the boss that I realized just how slow paced the level scaling of the enemies in the 4th chapter are. Chapter 4 is a whole half of the content, and story wise the start of Chapter 4 is only the half-way point, but the main story fights scale like it's really the final stretch. So it kinda reminds me that my only real complait was that it got too darned easy to overshoot the levels of the final area. Even if I didn't pull cheap tricks or grind all that much, I'd still be level 45 or 50 by the time I reached the final dungeon and all the enemies would be in the high 30's or lower 40's. All the end-game fights were just brawls where you just massacred the enemies and only got any real challenge out of the boss unit or their lackeys. I guess that's why most people feel like the Battle against Velius is the fight to beat. If you're powerful enough to beat Velius you're not going to face a significant challenge in anyone after.

I'm sorry but Ramza is just a badass. I am not satisfied with anything less than teleporting behind Wiegraf's back twice and 2-hitting him. You gotta admit, giving Ramza teleport is the tits. When you can remorselessly teleport behind random encounter enemies and slash 'em for well over their maximum health, it just makes you feel good.
