Agree that the ps1 animations don't work with the models so nicely, but them models are nice. It's just the basic moving mechanics were made for basic models. It just looks a little weird seeing him move like that.

When I first played the game, I was around 11 at the time (29 now, 30 in October). I was playing it with no spoilers. no guides. I got there on my own. I found it all out myself. Aeris was perfect to me. no flaws. peppy, innocent, sweet, flirty but still innocent. Happy. She loved her flowers. that was the girl I wanted to romance. not Tifa, who I still liked because of the childhood past. not Yuffie, who was still very cute and mischievous. only Aeris. when she died, I felt like someone stuck a knife in my own heart. that was terrible. and it still makes me sad to see it to the day. it was a perfectly done death scene. Fuck you Sephiroth.

I also reached this scene on my own at 13 with no spoilers whatsoever. I was so up for taking on Sephiroth after this that it guaranteed I would finish the game once I reached this point. I don't know if I've seen a scene in any medium that has had the same level of emotional impact on me before or since.

LeftLeaningPinko same but i borrowed game from cousin and after aerith died i vowed sephiroth would die but as i tried to leave on the next loading screen it would never load. I found out from my cousin it never would because the disc was damaged 😑

Wow!!!! Someone actually included the part where Cloud almost kills her because of Sephiroth controlling him. when I see people reenact this scene they always leave it out and to me it takes away from the story being told. The animation was a bit rough in some areas but that's nothing a little more practice can't but it was pretty good, I really liked this. Thanks for posting it.

i played it in 1997, still the saddest moment in my gaming experience. internet was dial up so no youtube. Don't youtube gameplay, bloodborne I watched part of it before playing and it was still great, cant image how much better if I didnt know.

because he was a puppet under sephiroth control he used him to try kill Aeris cloud resisted control but just barely another reason would be to make cloud suffer like the rest world sephiroth in his own eyes won by default by killing the last remaining Acient and allowing Meteor to wipe everyone out
