I like that you don't drown out the intro part. I find a lot of JENOVA remixes will remove or overpower that downward scale after the intro. I think you need it, because it has this odd otherworldly quality that really represents JENOVA.

Totally agree. A lot of FF remixes are like that. "You can hear the cry of the planet" is one of the bigger examples I've seen.

You have that amazing grungy phub-phub bass throughout, and especially the beginning sounds alien, that I was unsure of but I realised after a few seconds its actually perfect, like it should have always been there. The original track hints at but you never hear in the remakes and as another commenter said it makes it feel alien and uneasy, which is what Jenova should be. The grungy bass fits perfectly with the original game.

I always felt like Jenova was the real antagonist of FFVII, and Sephiroth is moreso just her puppet.

More accurate than you know. The original can be looked as Jenova vs Planet. The remakes is like Jenova and Planet vs Free Will.

It's actually quite the opposite. Sephiroth exerts his will over Jenova after falling into the lifestream, and instigates the reunion. At the point, Jenova becomes a tool for Sephiroth. But the real antagonist of FF7 is Hojo.

@@Railery You're both right. Jenova was the catalyst for Sephiroth's existence in the first place. Created via Hojo and Jenova's cells after she came to the planet
