You should do something about the buzzing/humming in the background of your audio recording. It's caused by some sort of electrical interference. Maybe a better mic or setup could solve the issue?

@@Givretto I gotta get another mic (which sucks because I just got the one I'm using now and don't know why it's making that noise). I was hoping the music in the video would drown out the buzzing.

My constructive criticism here is that it seems like you had a lot of thoughts to get out and you barrel straight into it. On the plus side it's like sitting down and asking a friend what they thought, but as a youtuber I don't expect say a rigid order of points but perhaps an introduction, a summary of big flaws, and then a deeper delve into each of the points individually. I feel like it would feel a bit less casual, but hey I'm just some dude so what do I know? It was just a bit of a put off for my personal taste and I'd like to see a bit more structure. When you do it that way the audience ears prick up when that one point they agree or disagree with comes up and it's easier to listen to than a deluge of everything you were thinking at once. That tone shift though from the original? Yeah it's my biggest issue with the entire remake series. Comedy and fun was a diversion in the original, the meat of the plot and the events were heavy, were thoughtful looks into the characters and their relation to their past actions and the consequences thereof. Because of that the remake is significantly weaker because that past and those consequences are irrelevant whereas previously that anchored the characters firmly to the story.

Fair enough, I don't script out these video (despite the playlist having Scripted in the name XD). I did try to script out a video before, but I felt like I sounded stilted as a result. Not helped by people already saying they have an issue with how monotone I sound or that I stutter. So I go off the top of my head since it sounds more energetic from what people have said. I do try to keep in some semblance of structure like always mentioning the premise/basic story details first (also any interesting development facts) before moving on to gameplay and going in depth later. But the rest does devolve into a ramble of what specific points I wanted to mention in no particular order. With FF7 Rebirth being a game I did have A LOT to say about (I actually have way more to say on Rebirth, but I keep reviews spoiler free unless the game is a sequel). Which is why I do recap my feelings in the end of the videos just incase. I am guilty of at times forgetting to mention something and having to record audio for it after the fact (not in this video though). So that is the downside of not organizing things better. And while I feel like the review videos are more focused since it's on one game. The videos on random gaming topics on the channel I feel like can go off topic at times since it is rambling. But I've had people tell me that my rambling format does work so long as I can keep on topic or if the tangent is still related to the topic.

@@Gordoniankid Well hey, whatever works for you, I'm certainly no KZbin guru! It's tough to please everyone, obviously what matters is pleasing your established fanbase, I'm interested and annoyed in this series of games so I'll come back around for more and see if I can gel with it better in future.

@@aerrae5608 Thanks for giving your criticism and explaining why you felt that way (many criticize but don't explain what they mean, leaving it as too vague for me to know what they meant). As for the FF7 Remake Project, I'll probably stick with it since I still greatly enjoy it gameplay wise despite my gripes. So even if I have no faith in the narrative, gameplay is most important to me in a video game. Although I'll still wish the resources being used to make these games, went into something like World of Final Fantasy 2 or another Stranger of Paradise with a new cast. That and forever questioning why a 3D Final Fantasy V remake still hasn't been made. Although if that hypothetical FFV 3D Remake ends up like FF7 Remake Project, Square Enix can keep it.

@@Gordoniankid I haven't trusted them since they made 3 FF13s. Mind you, my last favorite is 9. I don't like X far too linear. FFX-2 is goofy as hell but I thought the gameplay was more interesting myself.

@@aerrae5608 The only mainline Final Fantasy games I don't like are FF8, FF15 and Lightning Returns. FF9 I thought was OK, I think FF10 is great despite it's linearity (atleast you can backtrack for side content unlike FF13). FFX-2 I do like but it's mostly for gameplay because that game's writing is unintentionally funny at times and real dumb at it's worst. I think FF13 is OK and did like FF13-2, but yeah that trilogy felt like they were doing it because of the unused assets made for FF13. Final Fantasy V is my favorite entry (even made a video on it on the channel). I know many cite either FF12 or FF13 as the point they fell off of the series. And I can't blame them since FF14 is an MMO so it's not gonna appeal to single player game fans. FF15 & FF16 took forever to get made, not helped by FF7 Remake Project having a higher production value than new mainline entries. But spinoffs like World of Final Fantasy (that was announced right before FF7 Remake and released a month before FF15) and Stranger of Paradise (memed to death because of "Chaos" and the line "I don't give a fuck who you are!") kept me interested in the franchise.

'Someone didnt play the original.' I literally have both a review and full playthrough of Final Fantasy VII on this channel. The cursor for the original was done because the backgrounds were hard to distinguish where to go even for the devs who made it. Pointing out that the OG FF7 has a bad sense of direction doesn't mean Rebirth gets a pass for making the same mistake.
@versusbacklog8 күн бұрын
@@Gordoniankid its a throwback. of course they would add it again and its entirely optional. its an open world game? why would you go to a place where its obviously the main path, if what you want to do is explore side content.
@Gordoniankid8 күн бұрын
They didn't add the cursors from the OG game into Remake or Rebirth. What are you talking about? That's also not a throw back, especially when Rebirth is filled with overblown throwbacks to OG. A throwback would be if they had a section that was top down like in the OG and gave the option of using the OG cursors for navigation. The yellow paint & compass is to guide the player which makes sense. Compass points to main & side quests while the yellow paint guides the direction in the environment. But also having: -The Blue Arrows (even more redundant when they're used in places with one pathway) -Forcing player movement into a single pathway - Warning Symbol + Red Text blocking players from exploring in certain sections until they find the correct interactable Is overkill and just becomes annoying, like the devs are unsure how to get players to progress in the game. They already have the yellow paint & compass, why did they need the above stuff too? It goes from "I should go this way or look around because of the yellow paint" to "Don't bother interacting with the area until the game says you can". I said this was a nitpick of the game and not a major issue.
