I had a similar encounter for my first time. As a little girl when I encountered the tonberry for the first time I thought, “no big deal, slash-all, 9999 damage and he’ll be taken care of.” I walked away and came back after a couple of minutes think, “WTH, it’s still alive, okay slash-all, 9999 damage and the tonberry didn’t flinch. This isn’t good.” Several KOTRs later and he finally went down after taking two of my characters down.” Lesson learned, tonberrys are not to be trifled with. 😂

Tonberry act like an avenger for all of his monster friends that you killed.

Based on that damage from Everyone's Grudge I can tell someone doesn't use Red XIII that often lol.

Yup! This was a blind playthrough and my favorites were Cloud, Barret and Yuffie

Three best solutions to defeating a tonberry: Clouds' Omnislash Hades' Black cauldron Knights of the Round Ultimate End Quick Facts: Cloud at level 99 could annihilate tonberry using Omnislash. Hades can stun the tonberry making it dizzy with his black cauldron, and the tonberry cannot do anything. Go all out ending the encounter with Knights of the Round, he is sure not to survive the Ultimate End with enough MP.

They have interesting mechanics. It's possible almost never take damage from them from what I understand. They seem fun in World of Final Fantasy.

Yeah, that's a tonberry for you. They're powerful and terrifying lol. You can beat them, but they're always a threat if they get close. For me, I think the tonberry in Crisis Core was the most traumatizing but these guys were always a pain in vanilla vii.

I had the rookie mistake of underestimating a tonberry because in FFXV they are just daemons you could kill in just 20 seconds
@PkmnLegendMaster5 ай бұрын
@@idontwannatypeaname Yeah, XV tonberries are kinda pushovers. But for some sick reason they made giant turtle huge and evil and Iron Giants are Terrifying in that game xD

@@jamgrams3244 Have you faced off against the late game tonberries in Crisis Core? Those things can one shot even 9999 HP characters easily. (Liked the comment regardless xD)

Melhor jeito de vencê-lo sem dificuldades é usando aquelas agulhas que travam os monstros atingidos (estratégia usada no Ruby Weapon).

I'll just KoTR BOTH that one AND the ones via the Battle Square battles even with a 9999 HP 999 MP Cloud for those battles and Cloud Barret Cid at 9999 HP 999 MP and Emerald/Ruby weapons killed on disc 2 I'll still KoTR BOTH tonberry types to death.

And also get bored to death when KOTR runs :D Love it but oh so boring to watch multiple times

Wel I won't even fight disc 2's CARRY armor boss WITHOUT it even with 9999 HP 999 MP and won't fight Tonberries in the final dungeon without it either.

It's in almost all of the FF games as a Karma entity. If you kill enemies in game, then for each enemy you kill, Tonberry's "Everyone's Grudge" counter attack deals 10 times damage back. This guy over killed with Cloud, but barely used Red XIII in the game, so Cloud kept dying and Red was tanking the hits due to their differences in how many enemies they defeated. Oh, and Knife attack is just an insta-kill
@bob19866 ай бұрын
Not really it's just a recurring mascot monster in Final Fantasy, with it's gimmick being that that it's a tiny thing that slowly walks around the battlefield but when it gets close it can instant kill with it's knife. It also frequently has an attack that does damage based on a variable (Game time, steps taking etc) and in this case the the attack is "Everyone's Grudge" which does damage based on every enemy the character has killed times 10.

@@bob1986the nuance of their grudge mechanic sometimes being tied to things besides enemies defeated is the most fun thing about them. Obscure stat tracking enemy that reminds you of what you did on your journey!!
