Final Fantasy VIII - Quistis' Story

Quistis Trepe doesn't show up too often in FF8, everybody just focuses on Rinoa. I think she has a lot more potential to be one of the main characters and I would have loved to learn more about her past.

Quistis will never go unnoticed by me. She has been a permanent fixture of my party every chance I get. She was the character that made me fall in love with Blue Mages in Final Fantasy and also the character that really clicked with me the most. She is and will always be my favorite character from the entire series of Final Fantasy. As far as other characters who aren't appreciated enough(at least among the people I know) Rydia FF4, Farris FF5, Gau FF6, Reeve FF7, Zell FF8, Quina FF9, and Vanile FF13

I got it bad, i got it bad, i got it bad...i'm hot for teacher. I think Quistis is the hottest character in the Final Fantasy series even over Tifa Lockheart. I didn't like Squall that much because of how he treated Quistis after she poured her heart out to him. And it was sad how they put Quistis in the background after the first part of the game. Riona was a dog compared to Quistis. Yeah i'm a Trepie for life.

KittyCate105 FF 8 was probably my least favorite game at first, but over the last three years I've come to like it a little more

All the characters of FF8 is like college kids scenario. All the Gardens like Balamb Garden, Trabia Garden, & Galbadia Garden are analogous to a common university combined with a military West Point Academy (also a university, but with military flare). Quistis Trepe is analogous to a common Graduate Student (i.e. Masters, PhD) & doing her TAship in assisting professors teaching undergraduates. The rest of the FF8 characters like Squall, Seifer, Zell, Selphie, Irvine, they're like the Undergraduate Students Headmaster Cid & Sorceress Edea are like the university's faculty (professors & high ranked administrators).

I think Squall should've went for Quistis, but that's just me. In general the game didn't give the rest of the character cast much justice when explaining their stories or their place in the story. On Disc 3, it suddenly became about Squall and Rinoa, still not telling us why they're an important couple. But Quistis has got it going on, that much I do know.

No. Her big-sis-love gibberish was just an alibi. She was actually whispering to herself "A misunderstood love?" Actually I had completely given up when Rinoa came into the picture." after she said it she was probably trying to take Ellone's place as "Big Sis".

"Everybody must Focuses on Rinoa" Not everybody... But I suppose the majority? I DO agree her story isn't as talked about as she herself though! That's true. I personally try to pay attention to all their stories and am interested. I also feel they could use more depth as much as I love VIII, some didn't get enough revealed like Irvine for example *nods* So I really appreciate more variety for character story arks (and would appreciate more background someday yeah) Thanks for sharing with us. (Psst, Selphie is talked about seemingly the least actually)

the name is French, its pronounced Kisstis Trep :) If they remake FF8 after 7, which I'm hoping they do, they should put more of a focus on her (as well the other side characters, instead of focusing mainly on Squall and Rinoa).. give each character their own personal side quests and stuff..

I used to pronounce it Kwiss-tiss but I learned later it’s Kiss-tiss. Her last name looks like it’s pronounced “Tray-p”, as in rhyming with “crepe”
