She was such a solid character, with a drive that could slice through everything ---- to an over-sexualized, superficial, very reduced version of her past self that is now prideful, self centered, argumentative, very immature and charges to help Spira with reluctancy. I'm tolerant: obviously the X-2 wasn't going to be a history as deep as the 1, but of all the possibilities offered by the 1, we decided to erase 17 years of personal development to turn her into a dumb pirate, an antagonist with an EVER MORE naked outfit (wtf leblanc) completely stupid and tiring, and then we're going to talk about a guy and a girl who we do not care royally who died a thousand years ago. Ah and yes the Prayers say to themselves that without Yuna they would have been f***ed so they come back to pray Tidus a little more to please her. - How do they come back? They had not been sent to the Beyond? And otherwise you could have suggested that before erasing Tidus? And suddenly Tidus is a dead man, a dream, a living one? It makes me wonder; was Sin was the only reason why people were honorable, walked with dignity and treated eachother with such understanding, respect and cooperation? Was Sin the real core of the people that only reflected their own inner brokenness and inability to adapt once Sin was defeated? Seems like Sin revealed the true face of the people of Spira.. without the immediate threat of death, danger and destruction, people are divided and just treat each other like sh*t! Is this why FFX2 suffered? You're so right!, Braska passed down that torch to Yuna, as Jecht passed down the torch to Tidus, and you brought up a hood point, many questions weren't answered from X! I was wondering why they centered X2 was on Shuyin -the guy Tidus was based off of, with dream Zanarkand-. Made me wonder why the fayth even dreamed of Tidus when Shuyin was still hanging around ? Lol So many other things had me confused a bit too.... You hit the target right there, erasing 17 years of personal development and the VICTORY of permanently defeating something that existed since the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle! Like... WHAT! Yuna originally intends to completely self-sacrifice at such a young age, and then helps revolutionize the entire world, so I'm glad she got to experience more youthful experiences, less tragic friendships (her friends and guardians for most of the first game are forged with, at that point, her believing she'd live a short life and her friends might die too), and she gets to have adventures afterwards. Rikku teaches her to be more assertive and playful, and Paine helps everyone stay focused while the gullwings help her be more open about her past (it's not actually disrespectful for her friends to wanna get to know her, that's just bc Paine is trying to outlive and outrun the past). I remember ppl being mad that she wasn't completely self-sacrificial or as soft-spoken in the second game, but they forget she's still young. Even then, i still find her noble sensibilities present even as her personality diversifies (as it should). Also, Kimahri is still amazing and if they made an alternate history FFX-3 based on him, i'd play it. i could do without the weird harem-anime dynamic with Brother but they keep him in check and that's always funny

Just finished playing FF X and immediately texted my friend that it was my favorite so far( i'm doing a marathon of final fantasy games ), i was literally wiping off the tears from my eyes because of the ending. Recentaly started playing again and the game freezes during the cinematic after they have their mini concert and she has the dream of running away from guards with guns. It freezes just after the get shot and hit the ground, while the tear is funning down her cheek just before it switches to tidus. It does have a small scratch on the disc and it is the PS2 game I got years ago

So, in my version. I mainly focused on the plot of the game. I didn't include ALL the side quests because it's NOT relevant to the PLOT of the story. There were SOME side quests I did include but that's because I wanted to show characters that were in X on what they're up to with their lives. In Dans version, I believe he included ALL the side quest cutscenes along with the main plot of the game.

I believe Maechen has some dialogue where he says that because Vegnagun is basically a frightened child with no ability to tell friend from foe, Bevelle couldn’t use it, because Vegnagun would likely have killed everyone in Spira before Sin could. That’s why it was never considered as an option to use against Sin.

I expected this game to give me some sort of closure since Tidus went away. This game gave me closure but also great disappointment. What were the developers thinking? Yes, people loved Rikku and found her hilarious in the first game... but they overplayed her silliness in this game which made her less funny and more annoying. Let’s not even begin to talk about the incest brother who’s in love with his cousin. How could they veer so far off path of X to the point of people growing a strong dislike of Yuna? It’s effing YUNA. She was so lovable and so well respected. They disgraced her and her storyline.

It's never really explained how Shuyin is connected to Tidus but since he's a mirror version of Tidus, the developers just gave him Tidus ablities

Ich vermute mal, weil Tidus die Traumversion von Shuyin ist. Beide Blitzballspieler. Beide aus Zanarkand. Beide großen Beschützerinstinkt gegenüber ihren Mädchen. Beide stehen auf die gleiche Art der Mädchen. Sehen sich ähnlich. Ähnlicher kleidungsstil. Beide sind so dumm, dass einem die Tränen kommen könnte. Und, ganz interessant, Beide würden den gesamten Planeten opfern, um ihr Mädchen zu retten. (Shuyin würde vegnagun benutzen, Tidus Yuna davon abhalten, Sin zu besiegen und das Vieh am Leben lassen). Darüberhinaus ist Tidus nur ein Traum der Astra. Bahamuth erzählte, dass die überlebenden aus Zanarkand ihre Stadt mithilfe der Träume am Leben erhalten wollten. Da du dir im Traum keine neuen Menschen erschaffen kannst, muss derjenige, der Tidus erträumt hat, irgendjemand gekannt haben, der ihm sehr ähnlich gesehen hat. Wenn man das alles beachtet, scheint es nicht sehr komisch zu sein, weshalb Shuyin der Idiot, die gleichen Techs wie Tidus drauf hat.

Idk if I beat it in a day, but my first playthrough when I was a kid I just hit the hot spots to progress the main plot. This game in entirety, especially if you suck at math (stupid sphere break) will take you a while. Someone once said that it was a guide game, and i never thought about it but I agree.

I've had acomplished all missions exept for the one with unbeatable Trema (the Cat nip lifehack didn't work in my case, I couldn't defeat Trema no matter how hard I tried), that's why I didn't have a chance to see the best ending with Tidus getting back from the dead... Oh, sorry, from nowhere... I loved this game anyway. My only dissapointment in FF 10 and FF 10-2 is Seymour. Why wasn't he back in FF 10-2? The chemistry between him and Yuna was way bigger compared to relationship with Tidus...

jeez i never even got this far but watching ya fail at that massage so many times was painful lol, multiple times clicked on the same blue square for 0 points, i gotta get an emulator setup so i can play this again what a game lol, also cringe at using AOEs on the single boss at the end, you literally did nothing the ENTIRE fight but use a weak ability that hits multiple enemies instead of the version that hits 1 enemy for more or using any spells or anything lol seems so insanely boring
