We fight him...
Shuyin will Alternate between attacking and performing very familiar special attacks. Protect is really all you need for this battle. Set up a Protect then attack him till he's down.
Once he's defeated a heart warming scene follows.
Ending will be posted tomorrow.

The likeness of Tidus and Shuyin is extremely close. Since Zanderkand was forged in a dream and based off the machina city. Shuyin existed when the dream was made and is undoubtedly the dream ancestor for Tidus. Life is based off the memories of the Fayth, and everyone in the city was melded by the memories.

@@Polomance862 I'm fairly certain Tidus wasn't just a dream descendant of Shuyin. I believe the fayth created Tidus based on their memories of Shuyin. They're just too similar for one to be a distant ancestor and the other a dream descendant.

Just goes to show you how valuable the real Tidus was being on your team in FFX. Dude can solo a whole team. All Shuyin needed to do was cast Hastaga and protect on himself and this fight would have much harder. By end game ffx Hastega granted Tidus almost 3 turns most of the time

@@Mateoski97 basically, Shuyin was the real person while Titus was the dream version they thought up trying to remember what Shuyin was like.

FF8 you can Ultima into the whole party and basically do this with 3 character. 8 is confusing in the beginning but once you get good at build crafting and maximize Junctions FF8 is probably the most broken entry in the series by far. You can have squall at max stats with Lionheart not even like halfway through disc one.

I actually really like this final battle, except for Shuyin's small HP pool and few abilities. And yes, I fully agree with people here that they should really have given him access to Haste, Quick Hit, along with maybe Protect, Shell, Full Break, and stuff. Just pick stuff off the old Sphere Grid. Would have made this fight *so* epic :)

I haven't played FFX-2 since... 2011, never finished it. (I think the last place I was at was Zigurate(?)- Ziggurot(?)... or some desert oasis. That's all I remembered.)

It kinda irks me that Shuyin and Lenne never got high-res models unlike Yuna, Rikku, and Paine and some of the other cast in this game. Irks me even more when they butchered Yuna's high res model for X-2 lol

Don't unsent usually transform into monsters when you fight them? Why did Shuyin stay in his "human" form?

@@paulohonorato9100 At first, yes, but as the game progressed, Seymour became more and more fiend-like, with bigger and bigger transformations.

@@james_ford86 only when in battle, but he still retained his human form before he was sent by Yuna remember? Powerful Unsent like Yunalesca (and her husband as we seen in FFX2) can maintain their human form outside of fighting. Hell, Trema literally fought the Trio in his human form.

I wanted variety in my dressphere trios but yes it was a bad idea at the time. I didn't think he would aim for Yuna that much.

yeah kind of lame how they make this fight so easy by having his hp essentially be what normal tidus's cap was but hey just goes to show that normal tidus would wipe the floor with most of your normal team 1v3 if he had the proper stats.

Gage Martin yeah.. but not even cause you can beat him on lvl 40-50 something (stuggling a bit) but 60 and higher its just too easy and thats bad but still its always good to battle your character in sequels

Oh man. From the moment I started, I couldn’t really progress. After them taking Yuna and changing her so much, it just felt like a different game from the original. Why not just make it a stand alone? Maybe I am misunderstanding this whole scene. Well, what about yuna? Just about reuniting two different characters?

lol yeah they pretty much baited the fans with the premise of finding tidus, but it turns out to be some dude from Zanarkand and his own lover, who was a summoner just like Yuna... so a parallel of Tidus/Yuna that they wanted you to care about

Zanarkand, the one Tidus was from, and everyone in it, including Tidus, his mother, and Jecht, are dreams/summons of the fayth, meaning they're not real people, but echos of the memories of the fayth. Shuyin is the real person that Tidus was based on when the fayth created him. So, really, this game was also a bit of an origin story for Tidus. It explains who the real person he was based on was and his story.
