Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age: How to find Level 99 Red Chocobo - Quickest Method

How to find the Level 99 Red Chocobo which drops the Ribbon (100% drop rate).
It's s 1/256 of spawning in the Osmond Plain - Halou Green area. I'll show you in this video a quick method instead of moving two screens to get the Level 99 Red Chocobo to spawn.

You can do the auto save exploit by leaving the area and coming back right before it is killed. Doing so, you can get the loot the chocobo drops and if its not the loot you want for instance the High Arcana, you can then quit to the title screen and reload the autosave so you can kill it again to get the desired loot. You can do the same thing if you steal the wrong piece of loot

Today's attempt only took me 200 back and forth runs between the one and the other 'placeholder' chocobos, lol...but... Big Bird finally showed lol.

To be honest I've always just stuck with one group of chocobos as running back and forth between them is a pain. I have to say the fastest I've ever got the Level 99 Red Chocobo was under 5 minutes although never for the first attempt. The first time it usually takes about an hour-ish then (without doing any hard/soft resetting and after going back two areas) I have managed to spawn it a second/third time fairly quickly although I don't know if this could be a pattern or whether it's just luck. Probably just luck but I would need to do more testing to be sure.

I spawned 2 level 99 Chocobo in less then 15 min , by doing break on ALL of the chocobos in the 2 groups and going back between em in fast forward x 4.

I only left once the level 99 Red Chocobo appeared, the game auto saves when you zone out once and of course 1 zone out keeps the same enemies around. I died the first time after spending hours of getting to spawn, so I didn't want to take any risks. I can assure you that I never left the area the entire time before it appeared.

How much time did it took you to spawn one chocobo? I'm getting desperate. I've done this many times in IZJS back in the days, and it's been 3 hours (THREE HOURS, goddamnit) without any luck in the Zodiac Age.

I've managed to get it to spawn twice. First time was 4 hours, 2nd time was 5 hours. Just keep at it! :)

After 4 hours, I've just restart the application to reset the RNG. 10 minutes later, I got my first Chocobo. 5 min later, another one. 15 min later, a third one. I don't know if it's just sheer dumb luck, but I closed the application after each encounter and it seemed to work.

Doesn't work for me, if I kill the top 2 and turn the bottom one to stone, it just respawn all 3 or 2 of them when I come back, not just the one needed.

Just keep at it after eventually the game will just spawn the one on each side. Like in this video it took awhile for the game to register the one. I've tried this method many times and it's always worked for me.

Must reddas be in your party in order to spawn it? What about after reddas died after the events of ridorana, can the red bird still be spawned?

No. If you've already completed the events at The Pharos Of Ridorana you can still respawn the bird. The reason why people mention Reddas is because you need to proceed with certain events in Balfonheim (after you come back from Giruvegan) in order for the bird to spawn. Reddas is only needed for the events to proceed rather than a direct cause of spawning the bird.

4 years ago ..... but here is an answer finally....I searched this on Reddit, the answer is YES , Reddas , pharos, are all just storyline plot points, that must be met and finished, IOT be able to spawn the Chocobo. After Reddas leaves the party, YES can still spawn it
