This takes place before the ending, but nevertheless Lightning's not technically dead. DLC shows that she crystallized herself in Serah's memory, and a DLC secret ending shows her awakening at the end of time. Still looks bleak as hell, but...

this is what XIII should've been... right back to the basics; the plot and the characters. no Barthandelus, no 'rigged' sphere grid, no schoolkids (Okay, Hope is back but fits in now), Lightning is a HELL of alot more likeable instead of just plain moody and it's been a while since a FF game had such an epic antagonist, Caius is badass. but the best thing is... No VANILLE!!! YAAAAAAAAY! but Fang was my favorite, ironically. She was as badass as Light but less.. stroppy? lol

@770megaman yep. I've always thought FFXIII was a good game but a poor FF. The series has had more then a few groundbreakers, so when the core elements of an entry are altered we react harsher than other. Squenix, should get their shit together BEFORE announcing 29 other projects/games/story finishing DLC at a time.. moral of the story; keeping your core fanbase happy is loyalty, shafting them and "appealing" to new fans is greed. ALL gamers know what FF is anyway, so why "appeal"? LoL -_,-
