Yea this is like the only problem I have with the game so far, I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHERE I AM? These are main quests but why do they give so little exp and why does it feel like this isn't the expansion after the main story? I am so goddamn confused where I am in this game and what I'm supposed to be doing. Am I just wasting my time with these god awful quests that gives me second to nothing or should I go do dungeons and get some better gear? I have no idea... This is beyond frustrating, I do the MSQ but it doesn't feel like I am at all.

@@jsbfkdls So the parts where you get really low EXP is because you are already overleveled for the content you are doing AND you are doing whats known as "post-patch" content, or the content they patched into the game, after its release, before the next expansion. Its not suppose to give good XP because its effectively "old level cap" content, but it unlocked stuff and has story they wanna tell you, don't worry so much about the XP, once you see the words "HEAVENSWARD" written on your screen as you cross that bridge into the north, the XP returns from the story are great again to push you to 60 and the process repeats.

I'm here after several internet searches tells me no, I'm not allowed to play fun game until I read the novel first, so I'm here going to get a Cliffs Notes of what I would miss if I skipped ARR. (I'm job level 44 but msq just after the beach party hors d'oeuvres gathering surprise it's not a beach party it was a Test.) I honestly tried to pay attention to quest text for the first dozen levels but got burned out on how dry and underwhelming it was. I'm thinking of just an msq skip and leveling my first job to 50 by grinding other methods, since I'm almost there. But everything I've read says if I do nothing else in ARR the Hildebrand quest line is not to be missed, so when I get there I'll judge the rest of the game around it.

Truly preparing for a beach party with imminent rocky doom around the corner, so terrifying and powerful, was a highlight of the story, because as opposed to killing Titan, the party actually took a painful amount of time.

God that was so stupid. I finished the 2.X series of quests a while ago and people say that's the worst, but to me, truly nothing tops the inanity that was the Costa del Sol arc. At least the slower quests in 2.X eventually build to something. Why did I have to get cheese and wine for Whieskaet...well, at all...but especially with Titan around the corner?

A fair attempt, but you should have mentioned at the Ifrit chapter that in that encounter, the primals are found to have the ability to "temper" ordinary people outside of their Beast Tribe followers, making them mindlessly devoted to them. At this point the Warrior of Light's power and protection, courtesy of Hydaelyn, becomes manifest: You are immune to tempering, and have the power to fight and, with enough skill and grit, defeat primals. It is this that really gets the notice of the Empire, and makes you generally famous across the world.

I’m actually having fun with this game and surprising I enjoy the CRAFTING system of all things. Like a lot of moms make it such a chore, but this game lets you make some good gear for you other classes you want to level up.

So I'm glad that this video exists and I'd say it's a decent job. My gripe, is that things like King Moogle Mog was explained where Thancred's possession was never mentioned at all. This and the fact that so many things were mispronounced. I don't care if anyone mispronounces names, locations, etc. However, if you're recapping a long story for the masses, at least get the names right if anything.

Oh my god thank you for this - my friends wanted me to get into this game and I did. But they were both done with the story and I was just starting. We would get into voice call and while I was having fun, I am NOT good at splitting my attention. And one friend is very excitable so they would info dump stuff while I was trying to read or listen to story. So I ended up skipping stuff. I've only gotten to Heaven's Ward but there are moment's that interest me, so I wanted to do a story recap of ARR 1 & 2 as a refresher and to fill in any holes. That way I can skip way less and listen without feeling so confused.

I feel like FF14 has the opposite problem to Wow. Wow's overarching story is complete garbage but the small individual stories in it are pretty cool, but FF14's overarching story is cool while the small stories within are pretty bad. At least for a Realm Reborn. I didn't play the expansions yet.
