Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail OST - Final Boss Theme (SPOILERS)

Hope you enjoy the horrible bitrate on this recording. Also holy shit man, this fight was so fun. This expansion had STELLAR battle content across the board. Story was solid too in the last 2 areas. | Interesting that Phase 2 is nearly 6 minutes long since we will only hear it for 2 or so minutes in the fight... must be for the Minstrel's Ballad version ay'?

@@Arsvarg Since Ex-Trials are a retelling of events to make us seem more heroic, it would be funny if the Wandering Minstrel is like "Wait so Wuk Lamat was the one who saved you, and defeated the Eternal Queen? Hmm, don't think the fans back in Eorzea will care for that, better to just have you be the star like always WoL." Sort of a reference to the reception Wuk Lamat has gotten from the playerbase (since she also isn't that popular in Japan).

Yeah it kicks hard but its too short. I was surprised that the song is longer than the one for P1. This and the fact that ph2 is just dodging super easy mechanics, i guess for the cinematic experience.

Yeah as usual Wuk Lamat comes in kills the vibe, ruins the experience. She literally starts chunking the boss for like 10% of its life at a time. The group could literally afk in phase 2.

Like, Endsinger's phase 2 lasted just long enough so that you could hear one full loop of the P2 BGM before she dies, and this has been consistent every time I've run that fight. Not only did we get to hear the entire BGM in this video, but we also actually got to see that the ENTIRE second phase is designed to line up with the soundrack perfectly, enhancing the entire thing. It's very clear to me that we're *supposed* to see this entire second phase, she's supposed to survive that long. Which means she's SEVERELY undertuned, the players already do enough DPS to kill her consistently within like 30 seconds of P2 starting. As cool as I thought this fight was, it's clear to me that it would be SOOOO much better if they just gave Queen Eternal significantly more HP. I *want* this fight to last longer than it does, most people probably agree. And that's honestly the best kind of complaint you can have about a boss, I think. "It's so awesome that it ends too soon" lol

Phase 1 despite being a super intense version of Alexandria's theme embodies a sense of sadness with more orchestral instruments and choir at times which is a perfect fit for Sphene's plight on her end as she embodies both a desire to save her people from past (orchestra) and present (techno) Phase 2 being a so much more grandiose version of the main theme with it's orchestra and rock instrumentation is a perfect fit for Wuk Lamat standing up to Sphene as a wake-up call and still doing everything in her power to show her that the now can be better than she thinks. Kinda makes it being a victory lap theme alot more morbid

I just finished DT and as cheesy as the message was, the music was kickass from start to finish. I felt this pretty close to Amarot personally which is what hurt my heart. Def didnt expect my vacation to turn into another world saving adventure

Story wasn't my cup of tea but This boss has my favorite design of any boss, I felt like I was thrown back into chrono trigger and was back in a modern take of a 1995 classic

This was a fun fight. What was most funny was that on my first go, at the phase 2 only 2 tanks (me and other player) were left alive. And we brought her from ~40% to 0. Other people were like "oh no, tanks are at it again", but as fight progressed and we kept going, those exhasperated sighs of people wasting their time, have changed to legit cheering as we got further and further. Nothing makes you feel like you're achieving something when it's only 2 of 8 people standing and against all odds, you clear fight. So music was very, VERY fitting the moment.

as a healer main it both annoys me and takes stress off. It also make me feel better when like I did this fight both of us healers died and there were no RDM or SMN to pick us up... we ended up wiping but at least we got to see a few more mechanics.

Second phase doesn't match the tone of the fight since it's an extremely tragic moment that's the culmination of a woman desperately trying to keep the memory of her people from a doomed world alive. Not sure what they were going for here. Is it because Wuk is here? Are we supposed to be hyped by the entrance of the most obnoxious character since what they did to Lyse? Edit: a typo lol

She ain't the greatest, granted, but she's not half as bad as everyone make her out to be. Maybe I like her more bc I was playing with JP voices, so she felt more like a shounen protagonist, but still. Lyse was so much worse

@@Sylfposts overexposure. She was glued to your hip for 95% of the expansion, and a lot of character development for other characters fell by the wayside in favor of more Wuk Lamat screentime. I don't dislike her character, but they really needed to give other people the spotlight because every time Wuk Lamat showed up her presence suffocated everyone else.

@@magicman25103 Yeah, fair point I guess. At least Krile and Erenville still got proper screentime in the last area, but I wish we'd seen more of other characters (e.g. Koana and Bakool Ja Ja)

​@@Sylfposts She's hated because she's boring and unneeded. Lyse at least was a fun character before they ruined her. Wuk was never fun: She's just a screenhog and doesn't deliver at all. She even gets "rifts in reality" so she can be present over characters that have been built for 10 years. She simply doesn't compare. It's no wonder she didn't place in the top ten in the popularity poll. A character who'd been around for a week beat her lol. The two reflections take just supports my point even more. We're sources over thrice rejoined: she had no chance against us from the start. A desperate machine with stolen memories made to persevere until she bleeds the universe dry. Meanwhile the Wuk song is like, a happy go lucky combo song instead of something tone appropriate. It's just not it for me no matter how you slice it

First part wasn’t bad and the second part was looking good since we explored with erenville but then wuk took the spotlight again and i thought maybe we’d give Krile more attention but nope wuk again which sucks cause the character isn’t bad just forced on to moments that other characters should’ve had the spotlight again
