@kolz4ever1980 The moment Elidibus said, "Wait, I saw you there...in Elpis." I was hooked. I kept questioning it to my own stream chat and wondered what he meant. It stuck with me. Thus why I enjoyed and looked forward to the Pandaemonium raids and storyline. I was even more elated that they gave Themis voice acting for the final part of the quest between you and him. It really came full circle. My only question now is...why is Elidibus so much shorter? Maybe the character in this video is just tall. Now that I think about it, Themis was the same height as my max height Raen main and she mightve been the same height as him here in this scene. I'll have to rewatch the cutscenes to be sure.

As someone who suffers from dissociative amnesia, Elidibus's story hit me like a truck. He didn't even wish to recall his memories because deep down he knew they were too painful, especially after how much he's changed (in Tales of the Shadows, it's shown that he was a very kind and loving person who adored everyone). But one day he did, and at the same time it both filled the void inside him and broke him to pieces. It was a bittersweet moment, but it breaks my heart how crestfallen he sounds in this cutscene, bearing the burdens of his whole world once again. They chose him to be Zodiark's heart because he was their heart, who wanted nothing more than to protect the ones he held dear. And it broke him beyond recognition of the kind and loving boy he once was. But despite everything the Convocation put him through, thrusting their burdens onto a child, he loved them to the end. Rest in peace my poor boy ♥︎

I believe he was not originally meant to be the Heart of Zodiark, but he offered himself in the place of the eldest of the convocation. I forgot their name, D something. I believe it was mentioned somewhere in game, and on the wiki

It’s always been the general theme for the Ancients, but I like to associate the Neath Dark Waters track to Elidibus. Because of To the Edge, and now because of this :’) Tbh when Neath Dark Waters (piano) is made as the background music of Mare Lamentorum, I’ve always seen it as fitting due to the place where Zodiark is nested, and where Eli often lingered, as His Heart. I believe Eli spend no little time on the moon. It’s really poetic ^^

Man I really hope we somehow find a way to bring all these guys back, especially after 6.3 and Pandaemonium. Elidibus, Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus and heck even Lahabrea or Erichthonios are great characters that should be a part of stories to come. Venat may not return for obvious story reasons but we should at least get Elidibus, Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus back.
@koko-hh2bq2 жыл бұрын
As much as I'd love for the same, that kind of event will unfortunately contradict the message they've been trying to tell, or even make folly of the Ancients' strife, struggle and sacrifice. The WoL must learn from the past, so that they may pave a way for the future. That's why Hades entrusted us the legacy of the Ancients and the role of Azem. That's why he bid us to remember them. That's why Venat chose us as her champion. And finally, that's why Themis brought us all the way back to Elpis. All to secure a future for the star. Their story may be over, but now they can rest in peace knowing that they have a worthy successor for Etheirys.

@@koko-hh2bq I think the creators said they will come back. Not with their original, reality warping powers, but they will be back. They'll simply reincarnate and perhaps we'll see them popping from a different shard, seeing as time between shards varies in its speed.

Unfortunately, it would fundamentally break their story to do so. More so, it would make light of their valor and sacrifices. Theirs is a tragedy by nature. Its better to let them rest.

I really fucking hate how we just casually went back in time for Pandemonium when we were lead to believe it was a one time thing. Kinda ruins this moment in my opinion. Plus, wouldn't we be able to tell Venat about everything you found out after you beat the msq? Idk man, it's stupid
@menosay19123 жыл бұрын
The Studium questlines are partially predicated on the fact you have open access to Elpis. Venat tells you it is dangerous to stay longer, doesn't mean you don't have the ability to get back, just like with the First. And even if you don't, once you are attuned to the place, a powerful item like a Convocation crystal drawing you back seems just fine. Did you think there would be no more storyline use for Elpis? That they would leave the zone unused for anything for the rest of the 6. cycle? Ridiculous. And what would you tell her even if she is still there? That you won? It's over, you succeeded, what point would there be? It wouldn't change anything.

I understand where you’re coming from but at the end of the day it’s video game logic, if you were to slam this one instance of it you need to slam the 1000000 other instances of game logic in this video game story. To me it’s no worse than all the other crazy impossible ex machina shit that happens in the story constantly I guess is what I’m saying. but I also agree it makes no sense
@HereticalHorus2 жыл бұрын
We were never lead to believe it to be a one time thing. When, in the MSQ, did we interact with Elidibus in Elpis? Never. However. Pandæmonium, where Elidibus is literally the person who CALLS you there, makes sense with his memory of us on Elpis.
@TheUndyingCrystal2 жыл бұрын
Dude, they explained like four times over that we cannot fuck up the past to try and prevent the Final Days. We can't go back and alter the past, because the WoL has to be able to return to the future he came from. Going back to Elpis was only about finding out what caused the Final Days and setting in motion the Hydaelyn/sundering plan, nothing more. Elidibus says it *in this cutscene*, Venat says it, Hermes says it.
@aguyhere7945 Жыл бұрын
It closes the time loop. We went back to Elpis because Eldibus said we did and he only knows we did because we met him after going back for something else which we only did because we had already gone back once before.
