For how many hours I've put into Final Fantasy XIV, it's a wonder why this is my first cover from the game... and also a wonder why I'm still trying to get through A Realm Reborn. I began playing quite a while ago because I was excited to see what all the excitement was about, being a big Final Fantasy fan myself, but I was not ready for the time commitment required to catch up. I've been plugging away slowly, however Adriana and I have been passed this song by our friends asking if we'd ever cover it. Needless to say, we couldn't resist.
Though it's a song we won't be hearing in game for quite some time, the melody and harmony was instantly captivating to me and I just had to try to see what I could do with it. I had fun keeping mostly to the book for the beginning and expanding out as I normally do with these covers as it progressed, while Adriana found a great middle between operatic and a pop/rock style vocal for this arrangement. I think it came out fun, challenging, and unique and I'm so happy to share it with you guys. This is christmas present to all our friends who were moved by Endwalker and we hope you guys enjoy it too. Happy holidays!

I love Adriana so fucking much been a huge fan since I'm a little kid, her AA, SU, KH and undertale covers have followed me from the end of primary school, Insaneintherain's pollyanna cover was a litteral awakening for me at the end of middle school and now that I'm in the end oh high school, almost starting adulthood, this cover is released and with ffxiv taking a lot of importance in my life in the past year, I couldn't be more moved. I definitely noticed some signs of strain, but also I feel the guitar part as it's being played doesn't quite serve the melody, so that emphasizes the vulnerability of her voice making the strain more obvious.

10 years ago I found jules7x's cover of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts music and was one of my inspirations to play and learn video game music with the guitar. He was just a bedroom musician back then with all of the band posters hanged up in his wall. Always downloaded his covers and watched/listened it otw to school. @@ReticentLily Might have something to do with the main themes of XIV through Stormblood being composed by Nobuo Umetatsu where the rest is composed by Masayoshi Soken. Umetatsu has composed most FF OSTs over the years (basically every one up through FFXII where he did the ending credits, and the 1.0 release of FFXIV) and probably has a more old school train of thought and is very protective of his work, whereas Soken enjoys the fan covers and meme takes on his songs when he's not making meme takes himself (A Long Fall memes in particular were so well received by the team that they made the band version feature the meme in the music video and an on-stage performance at the last Fan Festival).
